Seriously, someone referred to working at Westvaco as a real job???? That is a riot. I worked there for 2 years out of highschool while i went to dabney, then left to finish my 3rd and 4th year at William and Mary. There is no thinking required to work at the mill. All i had to do was know someone to get in. Then all I had to do was show up. It was a dirty, messy environment. keep on thinking you are so important. If the mill shuts down, where would you go in Covington to find a job? exactly....nowhere. Who is going to care that you worked at some MILL.........LOL After graduating W&M, i interviewed with several employers before settling on my career and none had any feelings or opinion of "The MILL" Tragic what people can teach themselves to believe....

You shouldn't stereo type everyone who works at the mill. Sure there is some trash as there is anywhere you go. However, the vast majority of the people at the mill are good folks just trying to make a living.

Why is everyone soooo obsessed with Westvaco? People act like if you work there its the shit. I even had a life long friend who got a job their and wont even speak to NONE of their old friends anymore I just don't get it. I work out of town and I am glad, this community sucks and will never change anyway. I can;t wait til April, cause I am GONE!! HOT DAMN!

I was typing on my phone too, and whats spelling got to do with anything anyways? All jokes aside, not all people working at Westvaco are trash. We work our 16s, and try to provide for our families. No, most of us, if not all, dont like the shift work, noise, ect...but what else is there? McDonalds?... Walmart?.. If it wasnt for Westvaco, Covington, the shithole that it is, would be like a ghost town. Maybe if we try to not pass judgement on everybody, and try to better ourselves, in that respect, the world would be a better place.

I had thought about working at MWV. I had even taken the test and started my application. Then it hit me like a rock, that place is a black hole! Once you fall in you ain't gettin out. I would rather work for the contractors there.

At least the people at the mill you talk shit about have jobs, half ya'll crack heads on here aint even got a GED or high school education so GTFOH and go raise your kids that probably don't claim or give two shits about. You know why this community sucks and is a shit hole, because worthless people like yall are too busy doin drugs or thinkin you are hard asses living in Covington. Half yalls asses couldnt make it in the hood of Roanoke without gettin ya ass beat or shot. The people that work at the mill make this town really anyways so STFU. I have worked at the mill for 5yrs and have done my time and worked to get were Iam at. You bunch of idiots couldn't pass the test so you are mad. Don't cry get off your ass and do something. Hell go back to grade school and start over were you left off. If you do that maybe you can get off welfare and raise your kids to work instead of crying they don't have anything when they get older. As for the drug comments I have to pass a drug test how many of you can do that.
