They need to fire the whole damn hospital ( if that is what you would like to call it ) everone who walks in the er are NOT druges and most all the people who go there are treated as such !! When in fact a couple of nurses are hooked on pills and drugs !! The nurses treat people like shit !! Like they are better (news flash you are working in a shit hole ) they need to go work in a REAL ER they would not last a day !! and I do not go to this hospital at all not even for a cut !!

No shit on my nose only hear shit from your mouth! It's really simple......if you aren't happy with the service then go somewhere else! Everyone wants to bitch & complain about everything in this community....one of the main reasons this community will never grow!!!! Turn your negative Nellie attitude into something positive!

I know people who've died after being told there was nothing wrong with them. Died. As in they are now dead.

Gotta love the people who show up to the ER every week and then bitch and complain about service every time. Again, if you do not like the hospital and it is as shitty as you say it is, then simply take your attitudes elsewhere. Ever think that the ER nurses may have an attitude because before they came to your room, they have already been cursed out, etc by four or five other ungrateful assholes? Show some respect and you will get it in return.

Can say first time there and pre reg group near front desk are very unattentive . Elderly gentleman working front desk was very ill and they just stood there, not asking or saying a word except what's going on to each other , a nurse from out of nowhere just walked by and told him to walk to Er. So we were left standing there A good 5 min or more . Radiology Dept very Excellent . smiling, very curtious and friendly. Drawing blood dept very good. So needless to say working in hospitals in other places myself it wasn't best experience at Allaghany .

People in the ER are presumably there for help. You're on some power trip. Give respect and you may get it. That's so egotistical and unprofessional. You being respectful to others shows you're a respectful person. Who you are and how you conduct yourself doesn't rely on who you're addressing. That's superficial. Remaining respectful comes from inside of you.

I don't beleive its that particular hospital and/or ER staff. The general public beleive that they know whats wrong with them before they walk in the doors and if told otherwise the doctor is a quack or nurse doesn't know what he/she's talking about. I know how hard it is working with the public, sometimes its just impossible to please certain people. Nurses put in 12-16 hour shifts with minimal bathroom breaks and if they get there lunch its usually cold. In the ER department particularly they deal with real emergencies and I've seen first hand how exausting it can be to save a life.(It not like shown on TV) these people put their heart and soul into it. Most of the time its drug seekers who do most of the complaining and here's the facts. These same nurses/doctors have seen innocent teens take their last breath because of overdoses so forgive them when you don't get the particular narcotic you've asked for, for your stubbed toes and such. Thank you nurses everywhere!!

the staff is trained not only in how to save lives and nurture but to determine if someone is actually sick. If your going for none urgent care they treat the symptoms as they see fit and then ask you to follow up with your Primary care physicain. It is not their job to give you work/school excuses because you are too lazy. Or pain meds to get you through the month. ITS AN EMERGENCY ROOM. Not a DAYCARE!!

If you just listen everyone here talks crap about this hospital and goes to Roanoke or West Virginia. People in west va talk crap about their hospital and come over here. Its all a vicious cycle of B.S. that goes on everywhere. I read a comment about someone saying the doctor told them there was nothing wrong with them and they died. You don't think that happens anywhere else? Its your choice which hospital you want to go to. So exercise your right and go where you want. Oh just for the record no I DO NOT work for them or associated with the hospital in anyway... Thank you.

I was admitted into the ICU for 3 weeks recently but have been a patient on the 3rd, 4th, and 6th floor. All of the staff and doctors that I came in contact with from the second I entered the ER was very nice to me. If I needed something they were always right on top of it. I won't lie I usually have a complaint about at least 1 person in the medical profession but absolutely not this time. It was a pleasure meeting such amazing, caring, and stopper professional people. Even housekeeping was awesome. I give them a big thumbs up. Keep up the good work.

When my brother was a patient there the nurse was more interested in flirting with him than doing her job.she kept calling him honey and sweetheart and tried to engage him in personal conversations. She seem to play it up even thicker when his wife was around almost like she was getting some kind of thrill trying to make her jealous. She was tall with light brown hair I think her name was misty or kristy. Something like that. I should have reported her. I even witnessed her getting way over the top fliting with the docs. My brother said he felt uncomfortale with miss flirt as his nurse, he felt sexually harassed.

I had the same thing happen to me. This nurse kept calling my husband honey. How unprofessional. She was definitely a big flirt and yes her name was also kristy. Out of respect you should call a patient mr. Or mrs. Unless they tell you otherwise. If she's looking for attention she should go to a bar not throw herself at her patients.

OMG, That is a term of endearment you idiot. Have you not had a waitress call you honey or sweetie? It does not mean they are flirting with you! U people are freaking WEIRD!!!! AND about wait times rude nurses..... All hospitals are the same, I hear the same thing from Roanoke. Don't go to RMH, its all the same no matter where you go! I have heard complaints abut UVA, Duke, etc etc. There are AZZHOLES EVERYWHRE!!!!!!!!!!1 Not just ARH.

In an emergency you can't always choose which hospital but it should be a crisp shoot wether you're worse off going to Agony Regional.

Are meant for people endeared to you heart like family and friends. It is distespe tful to adress a pt you barely know with honey, or sugar pie. Espe ially with significant other In thr room.. as a c.n.a In nursing school at the time that is one of the first things you are taught. Respect and patient dignity. You dont even address them by their first name unless they give you permission. Thats the trouble with the world today. And my grandmaw was in pcu for se eral weeks and I know the nurse you speak of. Her name is christy and she did treat my grandma well but always called her mrs. But I did notice that the male patients were sugar or honey or something similar. You could hear her from the doorway and she did get more personal with the males.... but what really struck me as odd unprofessio alism was the up close and personal contact with another hospital employee I thought it was her husband since she had told us she was married, and when I asked her"awe was that your husband?" She said no he just works here. I dont know how most people are raised theses days but you dont rub the back of a coworker in a provocative way if you are married. That really stuck with me through school and now that im working as a nurse myself I never forget that nurse and how even though she did her job and my grandma had what she needed I lost all respect for that nurse that day and felt like she gave that floor and that hospital a bad reputation.
