CC Winn Baseball Team as Good as EP Eagles 2004

Live in the past if you will, but come the end of April the EPHS Eagles are gonna be forgotten while the CCWinn Baseball team will go down in history not only as the 2011 District Champs, but as the first team to become District champs in any sport in CCWinn history. This marks the beginning of the END of the Eagles. Trust me. Up to now the only way the Eagles, especially in football, have been able to best the Mavs is because they keep stealing the talent. Everyone knows it and yet everyone turns their eyes away. Too bad we live in such a dirty rotten town. They don't call it Illegal Pass for nothing. Nuff said.

Although I am a big supporter of the mavericks, I still have to give respect where it is due. The district is weak and there really isn't any dominant pitching compared to the level that the 2004 team had to face. As good as United is today, they wouldn't even touch the teams that United had in 2004-2008. They had dominant pitchers that could shut down anyone and this year the district does not really have that. However, winning is still winning and the mavericks deserve the recognition for accomplishing what they have accomplished. Good luck to both eagle pass teams in the playoffs and I wish them nothing but the best.

In general, District 29-5A is competitive but still weaker compared to other districts in the state. As a matter of fact, Region 4 is the weakest region in the state in most sports. So yes, three teams out of 8 are still in the playoffs from district 29-5A but this is still region 4. Even the laredo united team that made state in 2008 got trashed in the state semifinals. So just look into the reality rather than get caught up in all the hype. Good job to the mavericks for such a successful season but just look at the facts before making any claims.

2004 Eagles were nothing compared to these mavericks........Most of the players from 2004 sucked .....they all rode on the shoulders of Mikey Villarreal's pitching ( who wouldve been a Maverick) everyone knows that CC Winn and Memorial would be better sport programs once the school settled down
