Just to let y'all know, Mother Nature has put her foot down on our corner for a while. I hope all of you who came by had a good time and will come back again when we can start up again. We enjoyed meeting all of you who did come out and we had some great food and fun times.

That would be great. I was also thinking of maby a movie night at the Hall as well. I already miss our saturdays now. lol.. Altho I worry about the new curfew and the teens that attend. I suppose we will have to take them home when it is over. However on saturday nights they dont have to be in till 11pm. I was out of town when they voted on this item and it can not be repealed for 3 years. Lets talk more on the pot luck dinner or movie night...

It sounds like a great idea to me. We miss pickers corner too. We were starting to get a good group of teens showing up.

A Friday or Saturday Evening Movie Night will work for me. I have my 42" TV already at the City Hall and can quickly hook up a stereo and surround sound speakers for the full effect. Let's set a date and I will reserve the room. If we have a good turn out, we can make it a regular event.

The curfew ordinance was reinstated due to the problems we have out here. If the teens have a valid reason for being out, there shouldn't be any problems as long as they go directly home afterwords.

Thank you Lorrie and David and Larry. Yes we were beginning to get the teenagers involved and it was GREAT to see that, at least we knew we kept some of them safe foe a little while. Laura and I are so greatful to have friends like you and David to come and help out and David sure can play. I am in the process of e-mailing all on our guestbook for a Merry Christmas. Hopefully we can get going again soon, my ole juice harp is calling...lol.
Larry, that would be so AWSOME !!! lets see.. a good date would probably be on a saturday evening about what, 7pm? do ya'll think the 27th would be to soon after Christmas? What movie's could we show? Something "G" rated I am sure, so we don't get into trouble. I would need to get some fliers printed up and things. Ya'll let me know what you think.
I was also thinking about how to get the,um , Elders? involved in something, maby a quilting club or something. What do yall think?

Take one baby step at a time. Its really hard to get "people" involved so try one thing for awhile and see how it goes, then move on to a new project.
The movie idea is great, would you also sell popcorn & drinks?
The city meeting hall is for the community to use. Just make sure the building is picked up and cleaned after use. This has been a problem in the past, even from our own council person who left it a mess after the city's picnic, to which I had to clean it up.
I do expect others to be more responsible.
Good luck with your movie plans and I hope its a big success and you can do this on a regular basis.

Hi RMc-3. Yes I agree on baby steps,and from my past experiences in pulling people and communities together,it does take time as well as building trust in the people you wish to attend these type functions.
As far as selling popcorn and drinks,I think it would be a better idea to have free popcorn and soda and maby only have a donation jar out for those who could or would make donations. Also we could use those type donations for our other programs such as the Santa and community picnics as well. What do you think of this?
I am all for helping to build this community into a place where our residents would be proud of calling it home and our visitors to enjoy, and return year after year.
I can also assure that when we do use the hall or any City facilities we would most certainly clean up
We would love to have you there.

No I don't run the PD either, I volunteer to assit with filing and I have a good working relationship with these city employees. Some thing you lack with normal human beings.
But from what I do "hear" is that there are three council persons who are "TRYING" to run the department with untruthful statements and comments. They are the ones who should be complained upon. Why are they not letting the chief do his job as prescribed by law and city policy?

By the authority granted to me as an elected official by the state of Texas, I have a duty to investigate, read, and have access to all city documents. Not that I go into them all, but my being "nosey" is how I found out just what Frankum was doing to the people out here. Do you still see him here???
