Just a few days ago I was driving north on I84 and saw a commercial southwest airlines aircraft just a few feet away from the highway and just barely about one story above the ground HOVERING IN MID-AIR. I thought this might have been an illusion so I pulled over. It did not move a single inch. It was as if it was completely frozen in air. It was a beautiful, windless, hot summer day. I'm talking broad daylight! Probably around 2:00-3:00-ish pm. I'm not sure how long it hovered, as I had to get going to an appointment I was already late for. But with the highway being so busy and it being in the middle of the day, surely someone else had to have seen it?? I've never seen a commercial aircraft do that before....

I might add this was RIGHT next to the Boise Airport. Kind of over by those rental car buildings, you can clearly see right off the highway right before the Vista/Airport Exit

I saw a Southwest airplane hovering above the CMH airport today around 4:45 ish! I couldn't believe my eyes so I slowed down on the highway just to see it more clearly and it hovered for a few minutes while I was stuck in trafffic. Since when do commercial airplanes hover in the air????

That is very odd indeed! I think I might look into this and see if anyone else has been witnessing anything of the sort. I'd personally be kind of intrigued, as well as frightened by the sight of that.

I can not stress how much I have struggled with what I saw one evening. I have never been the type to believe in anything that can not be proven. That being said I swear this to be 100% true as it was witnessed by my wife and son. We are from Kentucky but had been in West Virginia visiting family for Christmas a few years back. We were coming down interstate 64 right at the border coming back into Kentucky. It was at night with a light rain and there was construction so traffic was going kind of slow. As we came up on the border my wife said what are those bright lights up ahead in those woods. I looked and said "looks like a tower with lights on it". We continued to drive toward the lights as the seemed to be right next to the interstate ahead. We were in the fast lane as we came up beside the lights. All of a sudden my wife says" what the F" and she does not cuss. I looked over and as my eyes adjusted I couldn't believe what I saw.(If im lying may my balls fall off) There was a large plane hovering beside the road. It was so close I could see the windows on the plane. I starting screaming "what is that?"...."What is that?". The part hardest to believe was the plane was pointed straight towards the ground (like something had stopped it from crashing). I mean the nose was 30 40 feet from the ground. Just stuck there. I wanted to stop but the road was at one lane and there was lots of traffic but you could see others slowing down to look at it. I know it seems unreal but I swear its the truth....The cabin of the plane even had the lights on. I do not believe there to be a airport close to this area.

This seems to be something that happens frequently with Southwest flights.During an approach to Sac Metro airport a Southwest flight that I was a passenger in came to an abrupt stop in midair.Nobody was thrown forward like you would think would happen when a plane goes from over 100mph to zero. The plane hovered for about two minutes and then suddenly continued on for a safe landing.I never experience this on other airlines.WTF?

Hey guys every commercial plane can do this trick.

Whenever the pilot wants to just hang out for awhile, he just stalls the plane and it sits motionless in the air pointing any way he wants it to for as long as the pilot needs.

Mystery solved !

Daily Horoscope for May 20

Aries

As the Sun cruises into chatty Gemini, you are likely to get involved in a spirited discussion in which you can explain your beliefs and values to other people. Not only will this help you to clarify what you think, it will also give others a useful insight into what really matters to you. On a more mundane note, this is a good day to return something faulty to a shop because you'll be able to put your case well.
