Hello all, my name is Darrell Fielder, my father Fay F. Fielder passed away on Thursday August 21st 2008 in Gilbert Arizona. He passed peacefully with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at his side. He was a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. We lived in Eagle Butte and moved to California and then to Arizona in November 23, 1965, thank you Relocation Act. He always talked about his days in Eagle Butte with fond memories. I went to 1st grade in Eagle Butte and my first grade teacher was Mrs Kost. I remember Meadow Lark hill and my grand parents lived on that hill, Francis and Julia Fielder.
There will be a service in Rapid City on Monday August 25th at 1:00pm at Serenity Springs Funeral Home and then off to Sturgis for burial at the National Cemetary, my father served in the Korean Conflict and in World War II. The send off at the National Cemetery will be at 3:00 pm, he is survived by his children, grand children, and great grandchildren as well as his brother Roland Fielder of Rapid City, SD.

I am shocked to find this article. I am saddened. Fay Fielder was my granfather whom I have never met. I have been to South Dakota a few times in search of my family. I have found several grandma's, aunts and cousins ther in Eagle Butte. I only wish I could have met grandpa Fielder.

It's funny how we reconnect throughout life in the circle of life. We use to visit Faye pretty much all the time in Mesa. We once had Thanksgiving at Sedona, AZ with you all. I am sadden to hear of your lost, Faye was a loving person, always wanting to help in anyway he could, may he rest in peace. I just happened to come across all the familiar names when I read Tex's obituary.

Thank you for the beautiful sentiments and comments about my father, Fay Fielder. He is buried in Sturgis South Dakota at the National Cemetery, near his brother Roland Fielder.
