that's really cool because i'm from eagle butte and it's always been viewed as one of the better reservations and that most people i know that aren't from the reservation. they go there and actually have acquired a liking to it. so it's pretty neat that they'd rather go there than to mexico.

I'm from Eagle Butte, south dakota but i had to come to aberdeen , so my dad san get a job, why would people go down to eagle butte? there's nothing down there! You can't get any Jobs, and most of the white people down there are mean to native americans, if they want to be mean why are they liveing on the rez where were liveing, we where in south dakota, before them, and i think eagle butte is okay, but i would rather live in mcluaghin south dakota, then eagle butte i'm from eagle butte, i'm a rez girl,a nd my dad is from Standing rock souix tribe, and my tribe is Cheyenne River Souix Tribe, and C-EB is where my mom is form so yea, so if any white people have any thing to say say it to my face!!!!!!NATIVE PRIDE 4 LIFE!!!!

ghetto's, barrios, reservations are all the same, wherever you go. our families live there, and sometimes we feel comfortable there. but it's not the same eviorment we grew up in, and the past is always better in our minds, than the present.
get an education and you will have a better chance at choosing the job you want. and yes we indians do have to pay for our own education. thats what scholarships and student loans are for.
drugs, gangs, and racism are everywhere. but they are something to rise above of, and leave behind.

As a member of CRST im saying thier is nothing thier. I Have seen to much neglect, drug and Alcohol Abuse and Kids comming from broken homes. who would want to see that. Yes i think its great that some people are trying to save our Native American Culture but going back to eaglebutte aint going to bring it back. Its true what indian wiyan had said. that the whole truth, i moved away after i had seen alot of the childern commiting Sucide. all and all the CRST Reservation aint the best place to be.

i agree that ealge butte is not a good enviorment to live in. but its where our reletives live. for alot of us, its where we grew up. its still our home town. and we have special ties to the rez. but with an education, the world, is not such a bad place to be. theres alot to see. and life is to short to not experience it. get your education and enjoy yourself, work, travel, see the world. you can always go back to the rez. it will always be there. take it from a tribal member whose carreer has taken me from coast to coast, and now even to the virgin islands. who knows where next. maybe home to the rez?
