I am trying to research and find as much info as possible on Show Low Pines, Arizona (Apache County). My aging Mom owns 4 lots there (Unit 10 - various lots). Her taxes on each piece of property has near tripled this year. We are trying to find out what is happening in the area that is making the property value go up so much.
We have not been there for many years and have little knowledge of the area now.
Can anyone help me out? I have done several yahoo and google searches but can not find an area map for Show Low Pines (Only for Show Low).
Have seen some blogs but they give little info and seem to conflict in knowledge. Last we were there it had little anything around there, sounds like the area is growing and becoming more popular???
Thanks to anyone who can help me learn more and research the area for my Mom.

Debbie,

I have a Section-Range-Township Map I can email you. That shows the locations of the various units of Show Low Pines. Show Low Pines has 10 Units. All are roughly 1 square mile except Unit 7 wich is 1/2 square Mile. The units are not contiguous, they are scatters across an area that is 8 miles North to South and 7 miles east to west. There are other Platted "subdivisions" in the area as well, including Show Low Park and Show Low Paradise which all total comprise less area than all of the combined Show Low Pines Units. The majority of the land in this roughly 50 square mile area is open range where cattle run free.

I have property near Show Low Pines, but it is not within its boundary. I am trying to find a contact person that would have information about the community wells within Show Low Pines, and the possibility of participating in the cost of the wells so that I can draw from them. If anyone has any info please respond. My email is boopski@cox.net
I have also been trying to find a contact for the White Mountain Lake organization/homeowners association that I know have been meeting.

Mr. Grantham,
I also have a parent with property in the same location. We are trying to get information to help my father sort out his paperwork. Can you also please send me a township map of the area?

There is nothing in Show Low Pines, but murderers & drug dealers. Of course there is the occasional mad cow.

Agree with You Wish. My husband says if he would have known how corrupt Apache County is he would have never moved here. As for your taxes going up, I'll bet they go up again!! I hear the assessor doesn't do the assessing hisself, that he sends it out to Colorado, so that leaves it open for mistakes if they aren't looking at the land theirselves or have no clue to what is going on around here. Everything in my area is for sale and has been for a couple of years with not even hardly a looker, much less a buyer. I am in the area you are talking about.

Can anyone tell us the differences among Units 2, 3 and 7 in Show Low Pines? There appears to be a big difference in prices? Are any of these areas more developed than others?

Prepare for higher and higher taxes here in Apache County. They just keep raising them and have 3 property tax raises on the Nov. ballot. Then they hire about 3+ new people every month and give out raises to the rest. Nevr ending it looks like.
oh please

LOL to the raises. I work for the county and I havent seen a raise in a LONG time. The only hiring done is for grant covered programs and we are all overworked and not paid at the level our counterparts are in other counties. I wish your comment was true when is the last time you worked for the county.

Check your property taxes, everybody up here is appealing them due huge hikes last go round. You might also go to the www.wmicentral site where you can keep up on what is going on in regards to that issue. MANY of the appeals have been successful. If you can't come in person there is a person doing them for many others. NOT ME!! I did my own.

You must own a parcel in units 6-10 to be able to join the water assocation that owns the community wells.

If you are looking for a map in Show Low Pines, go to the Apache County web site.

Taxes have gone up in some of the units because more people are improving their lots and living in those units. Plus now some have eletric available.
