Those who loved the movie will expect everything at the Field to be as it was in the movie. As long as the "Gettysburg rule" (keeping everything as it once was) is followed people will still come.
Change the view, over-commercialize the site and the magic will vanish. Some change is inevitable. When I last visited ten years ago Dyersville was not the same town it was in 1992. The Field was still very much the same, and so we enjoyed ourselves.
