We all have seen pictures from fb pages/news articles etc. of Karen from around the time she went "missing" back through previous months/years before she went "missing". She hadn't lost much if any weight nor did she need to. She was very fit, healthy looking and downright gorgeous. However, if she did, it sure could collaborate only 1 person being able to commit this crime and be able to toss her where they did. Your opinion may be what tells LE "just one POI".

Sorry to keep bumping your post but you gave such awesome thought provoking scenarios here that they need to be addressed and considered individually. Do you think they both were taking "diet pills"? Reason I ask is that, again, from pictures and comments on pictures, some have said that Karen wasn't the one stating she was trying to lose weight or get back in shape.

Good morning. First let me start by saying that there is a God, although I understand why some people prefer to think there isn't. Would be nice if there were no consequences for the hurt we deal out, either with lies or deliberate cruelty or even murder. There is no free ride, there is devine justice and while it appears someone doesn't like being pitied, I still do feel pity. For someone with such a big mean mouth, you sure have thin skin!! Grow up, dearheart and say a prayer or two for the truth to come out, no matter your ignorance you can't want a murderer to go free.

FYI. You can disrupt this tread anytime you feel the need, you seem pretty needy so have at it.

Either that or some other "first hand" knowledge of where the "diet pills" were obtained ehh?

Amphetamine use causes drastic changes. I don't think anyone knew what she weighed. All decriptions/flyers stated between 120-145.

The need for speed. Desire to be thin, up and down, attractive, popular, FAST at everything and obsession to keep up with it all. It drives a person to do things they normally wouldn't and makes them feel they are strong, bold and in control at all times.

Certainly! many killers have been under the influence. Again, it will make a person do things they would never think of. It controls the mind and creates euphoria. Karen's killer probably was on something, but she may have been as well. The signs are there for both.

The killer was on something alright. A jealous insecure controlling binge. Where are the "signs" that she was? From what was posted on here, not reported by LE, read straight from fingertips on comments of photos, etc.?

Surely her husband knew these things... How much she weighed, whether she was "speeding", whether she had mental issues,bi-polar disorder etc. Surely there was a health insurance plan that would have covered the necessary meds for any illness or "mental" disorder. I do not recall any of those things being mentioned in "private" conversations to a certain someone. Karen was not mentally unstable and even if she was as so many posters have attempted to claim over the past few posts. She did not deserve to die. She played no part in ending her life. This was not a drug deal gone bad. There was no jealous wife luring her outside the home. There was no hunter, no pale faced woman, no masked man, no stranger who ran off to Cali, not the burger man, not a dance mom, not the neighbor...have I missed anyone? I think you get my drift.

They were out searching for her and had to come into town to do so. The brother was even giving interviews along with others looking for her. Remember? I'm sure their "alibis" have been cleared. However I just ran across this. If her husband thought she was on drugs, I'm sure he knows, like Armadillo and another stated, that the influence could cause "lack of filter" and that may have made him corral a search group even quicker than what there was.

(Transcripts)
Straight out to Nicole Partin, investigative reporter. Nicole, she was an avid workout enthusiast. I`ve talked to her mom. Her mom tells me and her best friend tells me that a lot of times, she`d get up and go to the Y and work out. But I contacted the Y. This was a Sunday morning. The Y does not open until 1:00 PM on Sundays. She was not going to the Y, Nicole Partin.

Her car, less than a quarter mile from her home. She`s an avid runner. She could have gotten home in eight -- in five minutes. A quarter mile? Are you kidding, Nicole Partin?

NICOLE PARTIN, INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER (via telephone): Good evening, Nancy. You`re exactly right. We do know that she was very athletic, involved in running most every day for the past year or so. Like you said, a quarter of a mile within her home -- had this flat tire happened while she was driving, certainly she would have ran back to her home. That is the reason we suspect foul play.

Is this a set-up? Has this crime scene been posed to make it look like something went wrong? This lady would have had no problem at all tracking back to her home.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. What is the husband doing in the search for the missing -- for his -- his wife? For his wife, sorry.

GRACE: What brought cops to the riverbed? Good question. To Jason Cannon, "State Gazette." What is the husband doing in the search for Mommy?

CANNON: David Swift hasn`t been involved, I don`t think, in any type of the search -- official searches for Karen Swift. So he`s kind of staying in the background, I believe.

The most common types of mood disorders include major depression, dysthymic disorder (milder depressive disorder), and bipolar disorder, in which episodes of severe depression and mania (elevated mood) occur in the same individual. It is normal for your mood to change, and most people go through times of feeling sad. When these feelings last for a very long time or interfere with your life, however, you may have a mood disorder.

Symptoms of mood disorders include feelings of sadness, hopelessness, helplessness or inadequacy that do not go away; guilt; suicidal thoughts; fatigue; changes in appetite; irritability; difficulty concentrating; and trouble engaging in daily tasks and relationships. Mood disorders can also cause an elevated mood (mania) that is accompanied by feelings of grandiosity, extreme energy, and heightened arousal. These feelings are stronger and last longer than normal, and interfere with day-to-day life.

--I do think Karen had a mood disorder because she was moody. Most people try to self treat/medicate. Was she bipolar? I don't think so, because I never seen her depressed.

Mood disorders, or affective disorders, are mental health problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, and mania. Mood disorders can occur in anyone, including children. The cause of mood disorders is not fully understood, but an imbalance in brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters is likely to play a role. Sometimes mood disorders may be related to a medical condition, substance abuse, life events, or other causes.

- a mood disorder is a disease. Like high blood pressure and heart disease. But people lack knowledge of this disease and they think that the person is crazy.

Once diagnosed, bipolar disorder is often treatable with medications and psychotherapy. But warning signs of bipolar disorder are often confused with major depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), drug-induced highs or just plain moodiness.

Do you gather that from the inconsistency of what the brother said he was told about how and when she was last seen compared to what was told to LE?

Thank you for that google posting. It may clarify some things for others. It's clear from reading that, that she didn't have trouble with any other relationships except for the one's that were maybe jealous of her - but that wasn't "her" problem, it was their's. Of course she may have been depressed leading up to her filing for divorce. People usually are until they act on making things better when they are miserable in a marriage. I had a girlfriend who was until the day she "unfroze" and decided that "staying together for the kids" wasn't the answer. She contemplated it for a while until she landed a job since she was always a stay at home mom and her husband began not sharing his income/bonuses easily accept for what kept the roof over his head. Once she realized that she wasn't "clinically" depressed that is "situational" because of the marriage she was in, she was fine. She's now happier than ever.

It's really too bad and actually ironic that all of these certain posts about Karen can't be backed up by what was on TV during interviews, in the news articles or even what LE put out there. But so many other things posted by other posters can be backed up by those things. Sometimes it makes ya go "hmmmmmm". Makes you also wish the other "friends" that knew this couple would've had the guts to give "their side out from behind a keyboard and in front of a camera instead. Could it be that they did but LE or editors didn't find their comments credible compared to evidence, etc.?

Things that I saw: Karen and David would fight in front of their running buddies. They both turned to other people for comfort. Karen would get mad at ball games. Some of us would hope she didn't get mad at us over her kids playing ball. She was sweet. Her friends her in Pocahontas really cared for her. All of her friends are sweet in Pocahontas.

When she lived in Pocahontas she didn't drink or do drugs.

It's hard for us to think David killed Karen. We try not to talk about it and we hope justice comes soon. Some of us are worried this is a cold case.

Whoever Ginger is we feel she hated Karen and we don't know why. Some of the things she posted are true.

David would alway say She is my wife and I will take her side.

Hopeful or Curious - Do you know who in Arkansas, if anyone that Karen still would've been in so much contact with and who could've witnessed regular behavior of Karen or even both of them since they had moved from there? I'm not asking for names...just if their were many. It seems like since it had been a while, most of them couldn't have been around that much to witness so much if anything of what they've posted. I read from a couple other sites there were people that claimed to have text messages, etc. from her that they had kept and/or that were recent but I'm not sure if they were from AR or DC.

This is exactly what Ginga said in the beginning and throughout so you must be believe some of the stuff she said was true like you said. You must be a "running buddy" since you witnessed that. So I'm guessing that if he always took her side, everyone feels the same way about him that they do Karen. Right?
