me too, met him done that. I know God respects me for helping him, but he plays a real good game. Good job to the paper and the sheriff's department for exposing him.

He wrote "respects". I don't think God respects us for giving, I think he expects us to give. It's our expected service. We don't earn brownie points with God.

I've helped strangers before and still have had times where I have went without. This whole bless others to be blessed only works for prosperity pimps... err... preachers.

Great point. Any of you listen to Dave Ramsey? That's exactly what he says all the time. God doesn't need your money, he wants us to be givers so we can be better people.

I have read a few of the comments left on this blog and read all of the articles on this man. Infact my father picked him up in May of 2007. My dad being a dilligent man of God believed his story and offered to put him up for the weekend. James gave is "testimony" at church that Sunday morning, never once did he quote the bible or tell of the wonderful things God can do in our lives. Not forgetting the fact that I never once saw him with a bible during the 3 days he stayed at our house. The church is small with a congregation of about 20 people. They gave him a large amount of money and said a prayer around him. He would tell lies of being on Oprah, Dateline, and giving money to the poor to us during supper. I looked him up on the internet where I found NOTHING, looked through every epsisode of Oprah I could find and still nothing. From the very moment I met this man I had a gut feeling. My dad told me to put my faith in the lord. Which I did and I usually try to do in my life. But after praying and praying I still had this gut feeling. He went to our family reunion where he was also given monney and offered another place to stay for another night. My mother and I both never did get the right feeling from him. We slept in one room together and locked the door. That is how untrusting of him we were. While I think he respected my father and my family for their kindess, as he should have, I still did not and still DO NOT appreciate him taking advantage of us like this. James left with a large amount of money and my father's respect, none of which he deserved. Then 3 months later he shows up in town again at my fathers work, where once again my dad invites him to our home. This time I was unhappy and even more disgusted to see him. My dad really got the sense that we were unhappy and so he stayed one night and then my dad took him to the interstate the next morning where he ASKED for money. My dad said he was unable to give him the money. This was not the last run it we have had with James. He has called twice since then and asking for money. To all of those who are thinking this man is a man of God, you are entitled to your opinion and what you believe in. But I have prayed about it over and over again and never once have I been given a reason to think this man is honest and good. I leave you with this, I have a 4 year old loveable Raterier who has befriended anyone who entered our house. He DID NOT like James. He barked at him everytime he moved and grouled anytime he was in the room. And I am someone who believes if a dog doesn't like you, then something is wrong.

I met him a few years back in Unicoi TN. He appeared one morning at the turnoff below my house.
I gave him a ride to NC and bought him breakfast.

I wondered if he had been at 125 Oak Drive Unicoi TN as that was nearby (walking distance) He seemed sketchy.

I would believe anyone but the preacher. He is the one preaching from a book of myths.

And you will believe anything in the name of your imaginary friend. All the money given to churches is just to make them better people. Maybe the government should use that line. Religion is a business which preys on the gullibility of humans. It doesn't take a genius to see that.

People who believe a bush caught on fire and started talking are probably the easiest people to rip off.
