About time someone dispelled these rumors and trash talk. Sounds like from a few, they are concerned about being found out a liar? Most people in the community are feed up with all the bull crap that is being posted.

Factories leaving are the result of decisions made by executives/Boards of those factories. There is no single reason, as some leave due to corporate downsizing, financial bankruptcy, or other decisions made beyond the control of the local community.

The past 4 years have been difficult not only for Dyersburg/Dyer County, but the entire Country has suffered. We have seen our neighbors, friends, and even our own family members suffer as a result of the national economy.

The good news is that Dyersburg and Dyer County have been visited 6 times so far this year by potential industry looking to relocate here. There are many factors they use for evaluations, and Dyersburg/Dyer County has made the short list for several of those industries.

What can you do to help? Promote Dyersburg and Dyer County. You never know when one of the industrial recruiters just may be reading Topix.

The above information is not true. Your elected officials have family members and friends who work for local industry, why would they want to limit their income? Salaries are determined by the industry.

How can you help Dyersburg recruit more industry? We need more people promoting Dyersburg and less bashing of our citizens and community or spreading rumors on Topix. You just never know when a recruiter is reading these post.

Be sure to visit the Dyersburg Facebook page, to learn more about some new businesses coming to our community.

Gotta keep the pecking order. Most of the high dollar jobs have left. Now you have to work temporary an make $8.50 or less.

Yes they are determined by the industry. When the taxes on those industries are so high they have to lower wages to even out.

they were told they pay too much. Yes that is right our leaders have agreements with the factories already here that no one can come in and pay higher wages so that employees won't leave the jobs they have now to better themselves

The above information is false, and somewhat way out in left field, and I believe that most know better than that.

Salaries are determined by the industry. If the City told industry to lower wages, then Dyersburg would have thousands of jobs waiting to locate here.
