Is English your second language??? Because I don't understand this jibber-jabber you are writing here.

If you live in Dyersburg and there are others like you there then Dyersburg is in trouble.

Every town has meth heads & stuff. Including Cookeville. Check out their Topix page & you'll see the same complaints, insults, etc.

Dyersburg is no worse or better.

I moved from there 7 yrs ago.its a great place if you like seeing racist blacks walk in the middle of the street . White trash meth heads stealing anything not glued down.the rest of the town pretty much just talks about everyone else .its funny in Dyersburg if someone makes 45k a yr they go around acting like their rich and better then everyone else jobs, horrid schools, the first language is Ebonics , every restraunt is a freaking Mexican restraunt . Just look at topix it should tell you of the mantality there. Good luck

Dyersburg: ridiculously high divorce rate, bad meth problem, booming population, low/stalled/retracting economic growth. Schools are actually decent. Has a little metal scene if you're into that. Fireworks on the Fourth, parades at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Most of the consumer economic activity takes place on Lake Road. It comes off the highway, so most shopping centers and fast food places sprout there to accommodate the traffic/revenue that provides. The vast majority of employment comes from several factories in and around the city. Most people try to work at Ermco due to good pay and hours.

Far as recreation goes, there's not much. Bars dot the city and county. Carmike Cinemas is right off the strip. There are some parts in town where people congregate. However, it's a very southern culture. If that appeals to you, you'll be fine. Otherwise you'll have problems fitting in. Most people with time/money go to bigger cities like Nashville and Memphis for entertainment.

Oh, and people are right about the close-mindedness of the place. The intelligent people move off to college. That means the people who are left...not so much.

But hey, you might meet some people you click with, enjoy yourself, and start a new life. Just don't get married. Or make a baby. You won't end up with a significant other. Just a paycheck.

I grew up here and have also been to 8 countries and 36 states (ex army) and have never ever been to a place like Dyersburg. It's the worst place I have ever lived: divorce capital, over authoritative police, corrupt politics, drug infested, drama filled (no matter how many friends you have),lack of entertainment of any kind unless you like the bar scene.....etc. Glad I am leaving again soon. Good Luck!

Dyersburg itself is great but avoid the City Gate Church as it is an occult

Dyersburg is a bad place, it didn't use to be. I move back because it was always home, then I remember why I left and gtfo again. The ones defending Dburg either don't get out, don't pay attention, or just don't know what it's like elsewhere. Other cities have problems but they usually have a lot more people and its wider spread, it can not be escaped here.
Really? Why move back to misery? Don't blame the town, blame the one that is unhappy here.
