The doctors need a lesson on pain meds also. They give out too much medicine or push the liquid on people and get them addicted . Its a sad situation. If one is not dying or have cancer give a pill by mouth.

Any doc will tell you to not go to dyersburg hospital. The Jackson hospitals will tell you that to. They have to go in and correct about 80% of the patients from dyersburg. I had a lung collapsed, and I walked out and was taken to Jackson. They killed a friend of mine. He went in and they played around then sent him to Memphis. The doc at Memphis told the family that he didn't know what the hell the dburg hospital did to him, but it did contribute to his death. The family has a lawsuit against dyersburg hospital.

There are good and bad doctors and nurses at every hospital. I know someone who recently passed away because Dyersburg hospital dropped the ball and didn't properly diagnose them. I also know someone whose life was saved by the staff at Dyersburg hospital. The biggest problem at that hospital is that they've starting staffing it with foreign hospitalists instead of local doctors that have established relationships with their patients. The hospitalists don't care about the patients, they simply come here because they get part of their student loans forgiven if they go to work in a rural area for a few years. Once that time period is up, they move on. Since they only work for the hospital and their income isn't based on having to build a practice with returning patients, they don't have to worry about providing quality care. DRMC needs to get rid of these people and put our local doctors back in.

It really isn't any of Your business what my medical emergency was. I can tell you that I don't take pain meds and I've never abuse the ER. My legs were broken so therefore I can walk out. I think the doctor was Dr Johnson and he was a complete and total a$$. I don't care if I was half dead or what I would have still walked out of there. I think there are some good doctors there and a lot of good nurses but that particular Dr was a prick.

This is terrible. I dont even want to go there for tests. They dont read them right and they want all the money asap or they turn you over to collections. The service is bad. I too will go to Jackson. But it is sorry we have a hospital we cannot use. Do you have any infromaton on the lawsuit or what happened? Unfortunetly it will probably be heard in Dyersburg where everyone knows everyone and they will not get Justice.

There was some lad... oh I won't say lady. A woman who said she was a PA. She was so rude.
If anyone else has had her and think the same please post.
Hospital administrators should reprimand her. She was short, stocky and had dark hair.

Never go there! If you have an emergency go to Jackson Madison. They kept my grandmother a week and did not find the problem. Two days later took her to Jackson Madison, They told us in the ER that her sodium was dangerously low and some other things. They treated her for three days and she was fine. Not sure what Dyersburg did for the whole week but she could have died. I feel sorry for the nurses who have to work there with their incompetent administration.
