I just heard a lot of them went to the community center to sign up after paying to play at Lake Road. What I want to know is WHY?

Cause all the coaches are stuck up snobs! If your child isn't an all-star player they don't have time for her or if you don't have money or be somebody they don't have time for your child!

That is EXACTLY right! Its always been about politics there and who has money. Thats all. It has never been about the kids there!
Newbern has a much better program.

My child was in that league,we practiced one night and was contacted the next night to be informed that they had to cancel that league due to not enough players. We were told that there were two option, option one was move her to the 12-14 year old league and option two was to down play her (which is let her play with the 7-8 year olds, which we are doing for now). But what I want to know is if they are able to do that because I would have to get several games played then they tell us that she is too old for that league. Sounds like they need to manage a little better out there. It is only four teams in the league that my daughter downed too also. And as of today I was informed that the community center has already had over 260 girls to sign up. If any of you were me,what would you do? Leave her at lake rd. or move her to the community center? All insight would be greatly appreciated.

Playing her in an age bracket younger will not help her at all. Either play up or go to a league were she can play in her age group. If you let her play down when the regular season is over that's it. She can't play all stars. Also, playing up will only help her get better.

I would go to Newbern if I were you.
There are fights at little league games everywhere. Parents and coaches take it too seriously and forget the kids are supposed to be having fun. I used to live close to a ball field, if I caught a coach yelling at my kid like I've heard them do, that aluminum bat would henceforth be referred to as "exhibit a".

What happened to the game, the fun, the learning for the kids, the sportsmanship? Good Lord. Just do the best for you child you can, Me too. Looks like you are the only one who might be interested in her good as well as the good of all. Check on the Newbern program perhaps.

You may be SOL on that.
Yea. They'll keep your money and say that you should donate it to the league.

They are ruining the girls softball league with all of the travel ball stuff. All of the parents focus so much on trying to have their son or daughter be the next "Superstar" that they forget that its an organized activity for all to enjoy. They run off and basically slave their kids like pagaent moms to play 5-6 games per weekend and then post on facebook every play so they can live their lives through their children.

Its sad because you have the average girl or boy that wants to play but is not as good or maybe has the talent but not been worked with enough and they are pushed aside for the kids that are beneficial to the traveling team. This mess has become so commercial and competetive that it is a joke and ridiculous to watch. Just one less activity now to have our kids involved in because of ignorance and greed on the part of Dixie Girls softball
