I'm surprised that none of Purvis' supporters and defenders, of his actions that night in the school parking lot, haven't started a thread to condemn his jail sentence. I personnaly think his sentence should have been twice what was adjudged.

As I see it, he was a spoiled, out of control, brat teenager, who thought he could do whatever he wanted and didn't worry about the consequences, as he could/would be bought out of the sitution.

Well, now he knows differently. I expect to be fired on because of this post, so bring it on. To the best of your ability, but you know you are wrong. It won't bother me in the least, as you will know you are wrong, and I am right.

What? It could have been yourself? You act like this was an accedent. Most people are not out of control and so reckless to run someone over. He should have been given life. and your a dumb a$%

The charge was appropriate, the sentence was appropriate. He is, will be a convicted felon and that will follow him his entire life.

"Moore sentenced Purvis to six years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections and set him to turn himself in to the Dyer County Jail by 6 p.m. on Sept. 18. Moore warned Purvis if he failed to show up at the jail he would add another two years to his sentence."

Tennessee Department of Corrections!!! Sounds like he is about to become someone's "pretty boy" bitch!

He'll come out crazy as bat shit and never recover from the time he serves.

I just hope he is ready for what is about to happen to him.

He was sentenced to the Tenn. Dept. Of corrections for six years. He will served 30% which is standard for a state charge. He will stay in the Dyer Co jail because the prisions are crowded and the state pays local jails to house inmates. with no problems, he will be out in about 18 months. And whats really sad, The jail is not a place or this boy. He will most likely come out worse than when he went in.. But thats the price you pay when you break the law...

You know in a way you are correct...Adam was a kid...A kid that grew up with a mom hardly ever there.Tracy loves her bars and men.Adam and them wouldn't have had what they did growing up with all the men paying her bills! Look on her facebook and back a few months she was out on the town,If my son was in trouble and thinking for a second that he may be thrown in jail i would start and try to set an example for the other 2..Let's see how long it will be before she hits the bars again when Adam is in prison..Just knowing my child is in prison i could not be out partying and celebratin.. Yes you are a mom but a MOTHER YOU NEVER WERE TO THOSE KIDS Hint HUN..You should have closed them legs a long time ago or at least SPENT some of that money to fix the craters on that face!! And NO HUN..NO JEALOUSY HERE!! I may talk some sh*t but i can lay down every night knowing where and who i have been with!! AND KNOWING I HAVE BEEN A MOTHER!!!!

No, the sentence wasn't enough. The dumb ass kid made a decision to run down the kid with his truck. Maybe the macho thing to impress his girlfriend? Whatever, it doesn't matter. He has to do the time in jail and I hope it is as painfull as all I've read about time in jail. Hopefully, he he will have enough time to think about what he did and realize that he has a mental problem. But, for someone his age to do what he did, with no regard for human life, there's probably no hope.

Yes, guest, Purvis is just a young man, but at his age, he was old enough to make a rational decison, he had a drivers license, and he was trusted to make adult decisions. He let his ego over load his ass.

I know of this lady that had to pay about $250 a week to keep her 23 year old boys azz from being you know. The first time she couldn't pay they turned his brown eye blue. That was in Mason on hwy 70 or 79 i think. If you ever start paying they will come for more i promise you that.

Now, let him impress his girl friend and boy friends during his time in jail. Maybe he can be a badass there like he thought he was by driving over a kid in the parking lot. Real badass, well I'm sure he will impress his friends when he starts giving bjs to the inmates and bending over for them. Should really help improve his macho image and boost his ego.

Sure, guest, I made mistakes while I was in high school, but I never made the mistake of intentionally trying to kill some one. And if you believe this little puke teenager didn't intentionlly try to kill the kid, then you have to be the dumbest human being on earth.

And all the words you wasted in your last two posts, doesn't mean anything. He did the crime and now he has to do the time. If his time in jail means paying the price, well, tough. He should have thought about that when he was being a badass, macho, mfo, inside his vehicle when he intentionally ran down the kid in the parking lot.

intentional:done on purpose..so, yes, it was an intentional act. not premeditated, but it was intentional. maybe he thought the CC boy would move/jump out of the way...he did not or either he didn't get entirely out of the path of the vehicle..doesn't matter...

It doesn't matter what went through Purvis' mind when he made the choice to hit the kid with his vehicle. He did it. It doesn't matter that he might of thought the kid would jump out of the way at the last second. He, Purvis, made an intentional decision to run over the kid. That is a fact. And all of your ignorant ramblings, will not change that. Maybe the price he will pay in jail will open the eyes of some of the other punk teenagers that place no value on life of human beings.

Well I think it is a shame when we had a young man at a party here in Dyersburg get in an argument leave drive to get a gun and come back call the otheer guy out and shoot him and kill him and he gotr no more time than Purvis did. As I understand both boys were from rough families. And if there were a bunch of guys on one and if he was standing out there trying to make him stop where they could get him out of the car then yes I could see him running over him afraid to stop. However I wasnt yjere or in court either so I csannot say but things like this have happened. I really think they should be more fair in the justice system with their punishment. And I do feel sorry for both bots becaise they are really young to mess up their lives. But he wont have to stay the whole 6 years probably only 18 months. I just hope he has family that will support him and visit him in jail .
