Do you reallly think the governement should cut Social Security and Medicare to our fathers and mothers and grandfathers and grandmothers to pay for the national debt run up by Republican Administrations (Reagan, Bush I, Bush II=$11 trillion befroe the $5 trillion Wall Street bailout)? Or should we pay down this debt by cutting defense, cutting corporate tax loopholes that allow corp. to pay little or no tax on record profits, cutting oil subsidies which are ridiculous, cutting farm subsidies, returning the tax rates to the pre-Clinton era, penalizing shipping jobs out of the country(thereby increasing the tax base), taxing millionaires and billionaires, taxing hedge fund managers which pay little or no tax on billions due to a loophole, creating jobs by investment in needed infrastructure improvements, etc.?

Social Security would be in good shape if the government would pay back the money it has 'borrowed' from OUR retirement account. Medicare would easily survive when the fraud by doctors and hospitals is stopped. My last doctor charged $100 for a 5 minute office visit, if you were covered by insurance, but only $45 if you had no coverage. Tell your doctor that your insurance will be terminated soon, and see how many test he will set up for you.

Where are they? They are everywhere, because of doctors and pharmaceuticals over charging. I, personally, have decided to not get sick again. I've bought my last car for a doctor.

Yes, Bush spent too much. But Obama has added over 6 TRILLION in just FOUR YEARS! That's more than all others combined.

Obama has had plenty of time to reform and strengthen both programs. But he refuses. He wants the GOP to propose something & then he attacks them accusing them of killing old people. Well that's what he is doing by not acting.

That's right , 6 is greater than 11.(Four out of three people are math impaired.) Your statement is ridiculous. It is Obama's fault for not fixing the errors made before him in "4 whole years." Answer the question?
Eliminate loopholes, oil subsidies, labor out-sourcing, corp tax breaks, millioniare and bilionaire tax cuts, insurance co. health premiums through the roof, doctor and hospitals bills through the roof... OR....cut social Security and Medicare?

You pick. Answer. Direct answer, not off topic b.s.

Soc. Secuity is the largest holder of the National Debt. We owe it to ourselves. However, so what if further taxes are needed to fund social security. We pay in. It is a proper government function and it takes care of our elderly who have worked all their lives, paid in all their lives and have made this country what it is.Cut other areas, increase taxes, eliminate loopholes, stop out-sourcing jobs, tax millionaire, billionaires and corporate profits. If you cut corporate profits, corporations will scramble to make up the difference. Since we owe most of the money to ourselves, we can afford to give ourselves a chance to work out of this financial problem.

No further taxes would be needed if the government hadn't illegaly taken money out of the fund that our SS taxes went in to for decades. That money was to be used ONLY for the retired who had paid into it. Politicians stole the money for other uses, and now point the finger at someone else.

Cut foreign aid to the countries that hate us first. Like Egypt and Pakistan. We are giving aid to Egypt for their military AND their umemployment fund! THAT is just plain STUPID! It was Obamas idea. NOT GW. Yes GW made a lot of dumb decisions but Obama is at the wheel now, and he alone has added WAYYY more than Bush EVER did. What about Solyndra? and all of the other "green" companies that he is throwing money at, and they are going under and taking OUR money with them. He needs to quit blocking the Keystone pipeline and lets get oil independent. GW is not the only one with ties to the corporate world. YES,we should close tax loopholes, eliminate oil subsidies AND GREEN energy subsidies, and penalize corps that move jobs out of the country. I'm not a Gop or Lib and I see some good in some of Obama's plans but he needs to "man up" and stop blaming GW. You supporters of his need to be honest and realize that our president does not know what he is doing. He said himself that if he could not fix the economy in his first term, then he would not deserve a second term. Well he didn't do it but he ran anyway and got re-elected because of the liberal media and his supprters blindly followng him. Most of ya'll wouldn't know how to manage a budget even if your life were on the line. And almost ALL of the blacks voted for him BECAUSE of his color, and they say whites are the racist ones. If we voted for a man just beause he was white, they would blow a freaking gasket! and the liberal media woud be doing 2 hour specials on it for 6 months! and ya'll KNOW I'm right!
