Is it really any wonder why the post office is going bankrupt? I think in the last 4 years, we have had 4 different carriers with this last one being the worst. There are some days she doesn't even show up. I know because I am retired and sit on my front porch during the day waiting for that next bill. Neighbors also come over and we bet whether she will come by or not. Saturday delivery, forget it. She might show up 1 saturday per month. It really is no secret why people head to other sources to get information from 1 place to another. How far the post office has fallen.

I don't live in Dyersburg but I've noticed that many Saturday's I don't get any mail either. The days I don't get any is almost always Saturday. Makes me wonder if the postal workers aren't putting into place their own 5 day a week delivery- w/o Congress okaying it.

The post office is broke because the cost of fuel and transportation and wages are millions and millions of dollars but we can send a letter from the east coast to the west coast for a little bit less than 50 cents. And while technology allows communication to transpire via texting, email, twitter and pay bills via Internet electronic banking, the post office has not changed their business model much and has not raised prices enough to compensate for the changing times or made the cuts necessary to adjust for the decline of demand. If I kept paying the same price for all my expenses and bills but my paycheck was getting lower and lower and I made no changes, I would be typing this from my cardboard box on the side of the road with a strangers phone I borrowed.

Too often you see on the news where a postman was caught burning or trashing the mail instead of delivering it. That's a federal offence.

for about three weeks now my mail person decides when she wants to come or not. i had a bill in mail box for two days with the flag up and i finally took it to the post office myself and took it in just to make sure it got sent.

Sometimes you just shake your head at the absurd, what can you do. I figured it wasn't just my neighborhood.
