Has the law been voted on? Going to test people that receive food stamps. How do you feel about this?

I thinks it's AWESOME! If you can afford drugs, or alcohol and cigarettes for that matter, then you can sure as hell afford to pay for your own food. I'm 100% all for it. How much you wanna bet you will see a sharp decline in people getting food stamps as soon as that law gets passed? Can't wait...

I think it's a terrible idea. What about kids that have parents that are addicted to drugs? Are they supposed to go hungry just because of the bad choices and habits of there parents?

Maybe the parents will have to step up and take care of their own kids if us tax payers arent made to anymore. I am so for it!!!! My daughter receives less than 200 per month in food stamps for a family of 4 and they both have always worked to put a roof over their heads and cloths on their backs. They arent rich and barley make it but they do and I am totally for supporting families that try. MOST DONE TRY.

AMEN AMEN AMEN! You wanna be a crack head? Well you ain't gonna do it on my dime. Get professional drug rehabilitation and quit trying to get sh*t for free. Get real. Get help and get a dam job. And quit popping out kids you can't afford. You're ruining their life. Go state of Tennessee! Put a stop to crackheads taking advantage of hardworking tax payers!

Either way it goes drug users will just have someone else pee in a cup for them. Arizona has been drug testing welfare recipients for three year sand have only caught one offender. Also, if its tax payer dollars that people are concerned about then they should read this article.

http://bluehampshire.com/2013/02/22/drug-test...

It shows that drug testing companies have received 5.8 million dollars in tax payer money to stop 22 people from receiving $400,000 dollars in benefits.

That's a copout. The state of Tennessee has to do what they can to get a grip on this. This country spends billions on border patrol, defense from terrorists, and still bad things happen. Do we give up? Of course not. We move forward and do what's right. This is no different.

Im all for it. Maybe then some of the ones sitting on their lazy tails will get a job. But for everyone to down everyone on foodstamps cause u think u paying for them. Not everyone is lazy. I pay my taxes just like every other working person. I work hard to provide for my kids. But the way the economy is now its hard to take care of Them when their sorry other half doesn't want to help support the kids. I don't get much stamps but every lil bit helps. Wht makes me mad is when u got these lazy ass ppl not working drawing over 700 dollars in stamps. Thts wht pisses me off. Wht they need to do is make it a requirement for the ones tht r able to work to have to get a damn job. but let ur skin be brown and i bet u walk out of dhs with lots of stamps. Not racists but just saying.

I drive a crappy car, on purpose, so I can afford to pay my bills instead of a bloated car pmnt so people will think I'm cool in a nicer car, and as a result I make it, barely, but I do without assistance. And then I see ole girl or boy driving a brand new car wearing Fubu or Underarmour flashing that food stamp card. Omg i want to strangle some people...you all out there, we talking about you, you know who you are...

Drug testing for welfare is stupid. The only reason to drug test welfare recipients would be to cut the number of recipients in order to save taxpayers' money. That's never what happens though. Millions of taxpayer dollars are spent on testing to save thousands in welfare payments. That doesn't make sense.

I would rather spend money testing people so they can no longer be a well fed crackhead on my dollar than just handing over the EBT card. It's the principal of the thing. It's more about HOW the money the spent, not how much.

to another family who is not a drug head if their parents are on drugs. I hate when people lose their children but if mother and father want to use drugs all the time then they dont need thier kids what happen if the parents pissed off a drug dealer and the dealer start doing a drive-by shooting and the innocent babies get killed because their parents are either a crack head or a meth head

Alot of these people who get 6-700 in food stamps each month are selling them. They keep a couple of hundred and trade the rest for cash. Now That's ridiculous. I have reported someone for doing that. To my knowledge nothing was done . I will not stand by and see people do without because of others who abuse the system. This couple were using meth. They had children and were barely keeping them in food. They have since lost the children and part of the food stamps. Yes they still receive them.
