When I got my bill, I was blown away for the 20 min procedure I had done in xray. I wondered if there were others who felt they were overcharged.

everybody feels overcharged unless you have good insurance. Maybe you should get some.

Yes, we have relatively good private insurance, and they STILL overcharged them. Not only did they charge my insurance a ridiculous amount, they sent us the remainder of the ridiculously overcharged procedure.Unless it's life or limb, I will go elsewhere!!

We did have insurance that would pay 80% and before the procedure was done, I wrote a check for almost 1300. Then I get a bill for over 5000. I called the hospital in Union City and ask whatthey charged for this procedure and they told me 4078.00 I was billed for 10766.25 to begin with. my insurance company paid 5769.33 and with my 1295.82 they want 3701.10 more. What should I do?

Insurance companies have agreements with hospitals to discount prices to some degree.. Your insurance statement should show this adjustment, what they paid and how much you still owe.. You should only pay what your insurance says is your co-insurance amount.

Yes they do overcharge. My daughter went here for some minor test and was charged an arm and a leg. She spent about 4 or 5 days in Baptist in Cardova and it was very nice like a motel really and her bill was no way to compare with Dyersburg. When I saw that hospital I thought there was no way she was going to afford it. Now if they can do that then why does Dyersburg have to be so high? And another thing they dont give you a chance to pay the bill out they turn you right over to collectors.

I had insurance and they charged me more just for an ER visit than an in-patient heart procedure at Baptist Hospital Memphis!

I have never seen a place charge like they do! Making a profit is one thing but ripping people off is another.

Your so right! And it is a shame we have a hospital but have to travel so far because they rob you. I wish we still had our county hospital.

Iwould hate to see the government involved in our healthcare but when they overcharge people who have insurance to make up for those who have no insurance, something needs to be done.I would hate to see us lose our local hospital not to mention all the jobs but somebody needs to wake up.

Overcharging isn't the word for how they bill patients. It's more like "gouging." I'm surprised they can get away with it.

It is very illegal to do that. What you charge a person with no insurance you are supposed to charge the same for one with insurance.

You should be corrected. They are OWNED by the same corporation but THEY ARE NOT OPERATED by the same individuals as Dyersburg. Get it straight!!!!!!!

They let your son die there? Do you honestly think anyone would just LET someone die? No. You should get all the information right before you blame an ENTIRE hospital for the death of your son. People die everyday from medical negligence or malpractice, but it is not AN ENTIRE hospital that is to blame. It is usually the result of those select people who are responsible for taking care of them.
