Y'all are pathetic. She is a sweet woman n a good mom. She couldn't get their vehicle to start n wanted to be sure her daughter got to school. Make sure you're perfect b4 you judge someone you don't even know.

You never know the situation behind a story like this. Maybe she didn't have gas or gas money, but knew the kids couldn't sit home a week or two 'til next payday. You just don't ever know. Don't be so quick to judge, especially in today's economy. I do realize it is not safe. It's also not acceptable leave your kids at home out of school. You just never know. At least she made sure her child was at school. I know parents who do not make their child go to school when he or she doesn't want to.

She got her kids to school. That's all that matters. How this different than the lady who picks up her kids on a goft cart.

Several of us used to ride 4 wheelers to school in Finley. I don't see the problem.

Were they wearing helmets?
Did she ride on the highway?
No to first:violation
Yes to second: violation
Why place children in jeopardy? Call the school and tell them situation and that children will be late. How far to school? Walk with them to school after traffic declines on route to school.
Simple problem; simpler solution?

Wow. Who cares? Was anyone hurt? No. What's the problem here? You put your children in danger when you smoke around them or by feeding them doughnuts. The world is falling apart.

Was she racing down the road. No. And where is she going to do with all the helmets when she drop them off. A mother is not going to put her children in any danger. And your bright idea about walking to school. Yeah that's what I would do, make my kids walk when it's cold out side. At less on the 4 Wheeler they got there faster and didn't have to be in the cold that long.

I agree. I realize necessity is the mother of invention but I don't condone breaking the law in this case.

oh for Pete's sake. It wasn't as if there was a blizzard out there. Do we live in Alaska? No. It was in the 40's. we enroll our kids in sports and scouts where they are exposed to colder temps or walking from the parking lot into the mall or the strip mall in Jackson. Give me a break. She knows it was wrong. So do you. What a weak supportive argument.

I've never smoked and I rarely eat doughnuts. Was anyone hurt? Not this time but who's to say about next time.

Wind chill(coldness) increased on the ride tho. Where to put those helemts? How many did she have? hang on mirrors, handlebars, etc?

Just BC your kids are use to cold weather, doesn't mean everybody elses kids are the same. And I really don't see anything wrong with it, if that the only way she have to get her kids to school. At less they was there. If they give her a ticket for it, then the lady who drives the golf cart should get one too. It's only fair.

that's probably something you need to take up with law enforcement. Nothing I can do about that nor do I care about some golf cart incident. If it wasn't a big deal then she would not have been cited for the indiscretion. If you want to take your kids on a four wheeler on your own time I'm all for it, it's fun. But in this situation there was a lapse in judgment even if the intentions were pure. There are laws in place for a reason. Obviously a good mother would never willingly endanger her children but unfortunately there are many dangers in sharing the road with that higher level of traffic in the busy morning hours and as careful as she thought she was being, a driver distracted could easily change that families lives forever in a horrible way, one day of school could have been missed in the interest of safety.

If that mother had an accident and one of her children were severely injured you would all be on here with pitchforks screaming about how awful of a mother she must be to put them on a four wheeler. But because nothing happened, it's ok. When something happened to that little boy recently, that was an ACCIDENT, you people were ready to string up his parents for even letting him around a four wheeler (when it wasn't even an adult one, from what I remember) that was parked in the yard! But it's ok for this lady to drive her kids to school on one with them not wearing helmets? I wonder who this person is since no one wants to admit she was crazy.
