That is a very intelligent post Mr. Perry. What you have failed to include is the amount of money the "swine" bring into Dyer county.
For reasons untold (as of this posting) Coon Creek is shut down pending sale.
THE "SWINE" you refer to bring a lot of income to the merchants of Dyer county every weekend. Think of the food (Kroger, Wal-Mart), fuel, motel rooms, parts (Autozone, Outer Limits, O'Reilly's, etc),fast-food/fine(term used loosely)dining, etc. The list goes on. The bottom line is that a lot of folks go to Coon Creek for off-road fun. And these folks come from, not only our area, but neighboring states as well. For the most part, the "Swine" are good people having a little fun on ground designated for this type of use. Talk to the local farmers and ask if the trespassing and destruction of crops has decreased since this park opened. I'm sure most of us remember going down to Everett's and actually being able to access the other side of the lake. We also remember this access being shut off due to idiots destroying crops. Coon Creek offers(ed) great trails and good times in an area designated for this type of useage. What they need now is someone to step in with a better business plan and the local merchants to offer a little sponsorship.
Before you call the off-roaders in this area swine, read the Pink Poodles thread on this message board and come back to me. We'll then compare swine!

Mr. Perry you have described the people who go to Coon Creek very wrong. I do not know anybody that goes down there is a swine. Alot of folkes that go down there are very intelligent people. I would like to see you bulid your own custom truck from scratch without assembly manuals, take it down there, and see if it works. All of the custom tucks down there the owners bulit. They did not go to the store and buy, and Coon Creek is place to have fun LEGALLY. What do you like to do for fun,and yes I am a GIRL who goes down ther to have fun and I am VERY smart and I am NOT a swine.

Have you read that thread? Talk about a twisted mess and a lot of back biting! What they do is their business (I'm not condoning or condemning) and names should not be thrown into a public forum. Maybe my comment was a little over the top, but I was actually injecting a little humor into a rant.
I hope you DO agree with the rest, as it is the truth.
Thanks for your support.

BTW, the lady in the post above makes good points as well.

coon creek could still be open, 350,000 was gathered up to buy it by 3 local business men to keep it open, but jason harper being the ass that he is would not sell it to them, evidently he dont care about what help it could be to the local economy, he thinks about only his financial gain.

You seem to know so much about this, why don't you step up and put your name out, Why not contact Mr Harper , and have a face to face talk with him over this ? Maybe even his attorney with your slangerous remarks...

Advertisments were placed in the S G paper, that this was for sale, anyone interested in buying and keeping this open as a park, should contact the owner.
Finally one man did inquire about buying and he had a couple of investors,
They seem to have been all talk, they could not even come up with 50,000 ernest money, let alone the 350,000, you so refer to..

Think you should know what you are talking about, before you start running off at the mouth as if you know it all, and I don't believe there is anywhere , that name calling is asked for or required..

To anon, Coon Creek is a offroad park that you could ride four wheelers and trucks down there on trails, and it is in the Lenox Hills by the interstate.

I personally am glad that it closed. People were starting to get out of hand down here with the drinking and the young girls stripping, not to mention it was a accident waiting to happen. I'm glad it closed before someone got killed.

for real ya'll. i know jeff's right hand man and jeff. they didn't close on confrintation. how stupid would that sound. that place had so many people there wasn't enough room! they were bankin up there! the post above hit the nail on the head. the reason they closed it down is because it was gettin way out of hand with the accidents and injuries. INSURANCE was the reason. they couldn't pay for every bruise and scratch caused from wrecks and stupidity from the drunks, so there for they shut the place down!
