Hebrews 12:1-2
(1) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses...

Those who were inducted into the GLORY HALL OF FAME. See previous chapter

...Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

(2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith: who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The previous chapter speaks of those who God considers to be Heavenly Hall of Famers.

Hebrews 11:32-38
(32) And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gadeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthea; of David also, and Samual, and of the prophets;
(33) Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of LIONS,
(34) Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valient in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

(35) Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
(36) And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonments:
(37) They were stoned, and were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wondered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
(38)(Of whom the world was not worthy:)they wondered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

If your saved, these are the people your going to be with for eternity.

God help us!

It's one thing to be recognized by ESPN and the play of the week on Sunday, It's another thing altogether to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after hitting the gridiron Sunday after Sunday for years.

Some Christians are like Saul!
Some Chritians are like David!

Some are in it for recognition.
Some are in it because they love the team (the church), the Coach (Jesus Christ), the Owner (God), and the playbook (the Bible).

Matthew 23:5-7
(5) But all their works they do FOR TO BE SEEN OF MEN: the make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

The uniform don't make the soldier!

(6) And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

(7) And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men Rabbi, Rabbi.

Matthew 6:4-5
(4) That thine alms may be in secret: and thy father which seeth in secret HIMSELF shall reward thee openly.
(5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, THAT THEY MAY BE SEEN OF MEN. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

2 Corinthians 5:14
For the love of Christ constraineth us...

Ephesians 6:6
Not with eyeservice, AS MENPLEASERS; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God FROM THE HEART.

(4) Half-Time

HalfTime for a Patriot or a Raider is a time for refreshing, unfortunately, many Christian Patriots are set back just enjoying the SHOW.

2 Samuel 16:13-14
(13) And as David and his men went by the way...

That would be the opposing teams side line.

...Shimei went along on the hills side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.

(14) And the king, and all the people that were with him...

That would be the VIKINGS!

...came weary, and refreshed themselves there.

They went into HALFTIME, and were refreshed.

The problem is that too many Christians are stuck in HALFTIME. They're either putting on a show or watching the show.

Most churches across America are not even in the game (Fight).

1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

They're just putting on a HalfTime show.

With the Cheerleaders (women that don't know how to dress), with the food, and with the music.

Most "Christians" anymore (the Laodiceans church age) spend their lives either watching the show, or putting ona show.

We that are saved are going to spend eternity with people that were beaten, beheaded and burned alive at the stake for Jesus Christ. If your saved, your going to spend eternity around people that had their heads chopped off, were burned at the stake and watched as their children were put into sacks and slung agaist trees until they were dead.

When we see them we can sing to them, "I just feel like something good is about to happen"

How's your 401K and your retirement plan?

Tim Tebow is the exception to the rule. In his case, the exception proves the rule. The rule being that Football in America is Gentile paganism in all it's magnificence.

Tebow would wear:
John 3:16
For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

And,

Proverbs 3:5-6
(5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding,

(6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Of course he would be banned from this practice by the NFL and any future "eye paint" messages would be banned in Collage Football.

Tebow is a breath of fresh air in a world of self-centerdness, self-glorification, self-exaltation and self-propagation. Self-self-self!

Glory be to the gods of the heathen. It's Pigskin Jubilee time again. Time to watch a bunch of pumped up, tattooed grown men (It's about time to allow women to "PLAY" Football) to Play Gentile Pigskin.
