I was floored when I found out who they have running DHS these days. Do people not remember the things this man did back when he was a teacher there in the 90s?

Isn't funny how Dyersburg and Dyersburg topix folks loves to complain about everything in this town. A bunch of backstabbers live in this town.

We all agreed to the awesome astroturf. The community agreed and paid for most of the field through fundraisers. Yes the 90's were rumors other than coach Barry and he got caught and they still didn't report him to the state for licensing removal and he went on to have years of affairs with students in Missouri.

You're just a little behind the times outraged. Our administrator has been at DHS several years now. You may need to find somewhere else to focus your raging anger. DHS is doing just fine.

I moved from Dyersburg many years ago and just now became aware. I don't have raging anger just complete shock. Glad to hear DHS is doing fine.....but people thought everything was fine 20 years. So 'just fine' is an improvement.

If the account in Power To Hurt is true, I wonder if the victim ( or victims if the local rumors are true) could still sue the school system or is there a statute of limitations? If the account in the book are true, then the school system clearly failed that young lady.

Why does it matter to you who paid for what? The turf is awesome and Trojans fans/players love it! We are thankful for all the supporters who made it happen.

How did this thread change topic so badly? This is supposed to be about a pedifile running our school not a damn football field.

Actually, there was a group that started all of the fundraising for the new field back before the new coach. They hosted the college bowl games there too. I remember a few of the members but can't remember what it was called.

team dyersburg, was the name. Turf is very nice if there is a problem at the school with the administration I am sure that if it is true it would have been investigated and taken care of

My son and nephew go there. My niece recently graduated. I have never heard of any issues. If there was any merit to the allegations, it would have been investigated and we would have heard about it. This is Dyersburg after all. Nothing stays secret in this town. Except maybe who killed KS...

It was never investigated so how would anyone know it was true or not. The teachers and administrators at the time just ignored the talk. They never once asked any of the girls a single question. Everyone knew or suspected but no one cared enough to even ask a few questions. It was no secret.
