How to commit Spiritual Suicide!

One of the most famous verses in the Bible is Acts 2:38; The TRUTH is more people are going to Hell from Acts 2:38 than any other verse in the Bible:

Many people take a verse of the Bible out of context (with the help of Satan) or they use a verse to pervert a doctrine that it does not say.
For example:
1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

The favorite verse of every "sex" pervert in America.

...But they forget that the Bible says;

Exodus 15:3
The LORD is a man of war: The LORD is his name.

or,
Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.

or,
Leviticus 11:44-45
(44) For I am the LORD your God: Ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be HOLY; for I am HOLY: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping things that creepeth upon the earth.
(45) For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God; ye shall therefore be HOLY, for I AM HOLY.

Someone may say, "How can a person go to Hell from a Bible verse?" Peter, the one speaking in Acts chapter 2 wrote:
2 Peter 3:16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also THE OTHER SCRIPTURES UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION.

People TWIST or PERVERT scripture verses unto their own destruction.

Many hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people have twisted and perverted ACTS 2:38 UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION. Thousands of people are going to Hell on Acts 2:38, Hence:
AXE + 2-38's The quickest way to commit spiritual suicide, or SOULICIDE.

Consider the Facts about Acts 2:38.

(1) The book of Acts is a book of PROGRESSIVE REVELATION, that is, TRUTH is being revealed more and more throughout the book of Acts,(as the Book progresses).

-The book begins with Jesus Christ ascending up into heaven after His resurrection from the dead in 33 AD. It ends with Paul in Rome around 63 AD.

(2) Paul, not Peter was the Apostle to the Gentiles.(I would be safe in saying that 99% of those reading this are Gentiles and not Jews)

Paul writing
Galatians 2:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

Romans 11:13 For I speak unto you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the Apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office.

Paul, not Peter was given the understanding of the Gospel of the Grace of God.
Whenever you find a verse in the Bible that does not line up to what Paul preached, then it does not apply to you in the Church age.

(3) Every one in Acts 2 was a Jew or a convert to Judaism that had gathered in Jerusalem for a Jewish feast (PENTECOST).

Acts 2:1
And when the day of PENTECOST was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

-To those who call themselves "PENTECOSTAL", Let's look at what happened on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.

(a) No one is praying for the "Holy Ghost Baptism" or for the "Gift of Tongues".

(b) For those who base their "Holy Ghost" experience on Acts chapter 2, the initial evidence of the "Baptism of the Holy Ghost" is:
- a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind.

- Notice in verse 2 They were sitting in a house, not praying in a church, as a matter of fact, there were no church buildings throughout the book of Acts.

(c) The second evidense of the "Baptism of the Holy Ghost" according to Acts 2.
Verse 3 There appeared unto them CLOVEN TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE, and it sat upon each of them.

These Biblical illiterates go back to John the Baptist's message in Matthew 3 to "prove" that the CLOVEN TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE was what John the Baptist was talking about.

Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentence: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.

...They say, "See there, the FIRE that John the Baptist is talking about is the CLOVEN TONGUES like as of fire in Acts 2".

-This is a perfect example of how a verse can be taken out of context and be used to pervert the truth.

Lets put Matthew 3 in context: John the Baptist is speaking to the Pharisees and Sadducees, the uppety upp upper crest religious people of his day.

Matthew 3: 9-12
(9) And think not to say within yourselves, we have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
(10) And now also tha axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the FIRE.
(11) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentence: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with FIRE:
(12) Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will BURN UP THE CHAFF WITH UNQUENCHABLE FIRE.

The FIRE that John the Baptist is speaking about is the LAKE of FIRE that the majorty of the world will be Baptized with in the future,

Notice what Jesus Christ says before His ascension.
Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be BAPTIZED with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Notice that Jesus Christ didn't mention the "FIRE" that all those who reject Him and His FREE salvation will be Baptized with in the future.
(d) No one in Acts chapter 2 spoke with UNKNOWN TONGUES.

Acts 2:4-8
(4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with OTHER TONGUES, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
(5) And there were dwelling at Jerusalem JEWS, devout men , out of every nation under heaven.
(6) Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in HIS OWN LANGUAGE.
(7) And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
(8) And how hear we every man in our OWN TONGUE, wherein we were born?

Everyone in Acts 2 spoke in LANGUAGES that they did not know. That was the miracle of Acts 2:4.

These disciples of Jesus Christ were just Jewish hicks and fishermen. But all of a sudden they were able to speak in LANGUAGES that they had never learned.

Verse 9-11
(9) Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers of Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
(10) Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in EGYPT, and in the parts of LIBYA about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proelytes,
(11) Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak IN OUR TONGUES the wonderful works of God.

The word TONGUE means LANGUAGE,
The first time it shows up is in
Genesis 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

TONGUES means LANGUAGES

Noone in Acts 2 is speaking in unknown tongues, they're speaking in known languages.

By the time Paul writes to the Church of Corinth (the book of 1 Corintians) about 25 years later, the people in the most CARNAL and IMMATURE church in the New Testament were trying to immatate this miracle by going around saying "HOSTILA-SHUNDILA UNTILIE-BOWTIE"!

No book of the New Testament had been written when Peter preaches on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. Peter just continues to preach the same message that John the Baptist was preaching some 4 years earlier.

Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentence:

Mark 1:4
John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentence for the remissions of sins.

Luke 3:3
And he came unto the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentence for the remission of sins.

John 1:19-31
(19) And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, who art thou?
(20) And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
(21) And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he said, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
(22) Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
(23) He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
(24) And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
(25) And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest though then, if thou be not the Christ, nor Elias, niether that prophet?
(26) John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
(27) He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoes latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
(28) These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
(29) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin if the world.
(30) This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
(31) And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come BAPTIZING WITH WATER.

In Acts 2:14-36 Peter preaches a message to the Jews and Jewish Proselytes that were at Jerusalem. He would conclude with these words in verse:

(36) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, BOTH LORD and CHRIST.
(37) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles, Men and bretheren, what shall we do?

Notice, what they didn't ask: They didn't ask "What shall we do to be saved?" That question was asked later in the book of Acts.
But here a bunch of Jews asks Peter after he tells them that they've taken Jesus Christ, and with wicked hands have crucified and slain him, and that God hath made Him both Lord and Christ.

They ask, In light of that,
"What shall we do?"

Peters response:
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Notice these outstanding truths about Acts 2:38

(1) No one is asking Peter "What must we do to be saved?"
(2) Everyone that Peter is speaking to is a Jew, or a Jewish proselyte.
(3) Peter is preaching the same message that John the Baptist had preached some 3 1/2 years earlier, with 2 additional statements,
...In the name of Jesus Christ.
... Ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(4) No where after Acts 2 is the content of Acts 2:38 ever mentioned again in the entire Bible.

Notice how the book of Acts is trasitional.
Notice other places where/how the Holy Ghost is received in the book of Acts.

Acts 8:14-17
(14) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
(15) Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost
(16)(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
(17) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:44,46-48
(44) While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on them which heard the word.
(46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God, then answered Peter,
(47) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, WHICH HAVE RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST AS WELL AS WE?
(48) And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:2-6
(2) He said unto them, have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
(3) And he said unto them, unto what then were ye baptized? and they said, unto Johns baptism.
(4) Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentence, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
(5) When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
(6) And when Paul had LAID HIS HANDS upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

The GOSPEL according to the Apostle Paul.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8
(1) Moreover, bretheren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
(2) By which also YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
(3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
(4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
(5) And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve;
(6) After that, he was seen of above five hundred bretheren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
(7) After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
(8) And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

(13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Very important:
Look at these two questions very carefully:

Acts 2:37-38
(37) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, MEN and BRETHEREN, WHAT SHALL WE DO?
(38) Then Peter sid unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Now jump forward about 20 years where Paul and Silas, on their 2nd "missionary journey", travelling throughout present day Greece, south of Bulgaria, several hundreds of miles to the Northwest of Israel and about 10 to 12 years AFTER people were being called "CHRISTIANS",
Acts 11:26
...And the disciples were called CHRISTIANS FIRST IN ANTIOCH.

Not Rome nor Egypt, where the manuscripts were found that all the NEW "bibles" come from.

The question by the Philippian jailor (A Gentile, not an Old Testament Jew) was,
Sirs, What must I DO TO BE SAVED?

Since: May 10

Their answer:
Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

(1) The difference in the questions:
What shall we do? Acts 2:37
What must I DO TO BE SAVED? Acts 16:30

(2) Acts 2:37
MEN and BRETHREN, what shall WE DO?
Notice the emphasis on NATIONAL UNITY,(Brethren,i.e, Jews) They didn't call Peter and the rest of the apostles BRETHREN in a spiritual sense, they called them BRETHREN in a NATIONAL sense.

Acts 16:30
And brought them out and said, SIRS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

The Philippian keeper of the prison called Paul and Silas "SIRS" showing his respect for the "jailbird" preachers. He knew that they had something that he needed.

Notice what took place in Acts 16:
Paul and Silas were on a missionary trip throughout Asia Minor. When they began preaching around the city of Philipi,(a city named after King Philip, the father of Alexander the Great). One Saturday afternoon they had a prayer meeting out by the river side (In the book of Acts, the first Century preachers ALL preached in public venues) A business woman named Lydia from the city of Thyatira, who was religious but lost,(as many are today) got saved, along with her family members.

Acts 16:14-15
(14) And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
(15) And when she was baptized, and her household, she besaught us, saying, if ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come in to my house and abide there, and she constrained us.

Whenever people begin getting saved or right with God, the Devil always shows up.

Notice the contrast between these two women.

verse 16-18
(16) And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying.

This woman with celebrity status, although she was led by Satan (like Jeane Dixon, "Madame" Blavatsky, Shirley "I am God, I am God, I am God" Out on a limb Maclaine, and Oprah, who grew up in a Baptist church, who was also a member of Barak Obama's home church, whos pastor was Jeremiah Wright. She would later become the "pastor" of the "Church of O" and preach that there were other paths to God than just Christianity).

The first conversation that Satan ever had in this world was with a woman.

1 Timothy 2:14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Acts 16:17-18
(17) The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Paul did not appreciate the unsolicited publicity and celebrity status that this demen possessed woman gave to him. So he cast the devil out of her.

(verse 18) And this did she many days, But Paul, being grieved, turned and said unto the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Paul and his company of "rabble-rousers" and "trouble-makers" would be beaten and thrown into prison, not for "sharing the gospel" or for "sharing the love of Christ", but like John the Baptist, they were thrown into prison for STANDING AGAINST SIN AND WICKEDNESS.

Anybody can preach the gospel, it takes a man of God to preach against SIN!

After they were beaten, chained up, and thrown into the "hole",(the inner prison). They began having a prayer meeting and a singin'

...Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, because He first loved me.

and,

...Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

When all of a sudden there was a Supernatural, miraculous "Great Earthquake" that would open the doors of the prison and break the chains of all the prisoners.

When the jailor realized that NO prisoner had escaped, he would say, "SIRS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?"

They didn't say:
"Join the church", or "turn over a new leaf", or "become a better person". They didn't tell him to "keep the 10 Commandments" or, the golden rule, or to "become more social". They didn't say "don't break the laws of the state", and they definitely did not say to "GET BAPTIZED".

Their answer to his question, "SIRS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED" ?

Was,
Verse (31) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Once again, They did not say:
"Believe IN the Lord Jesus Christ"

The Bible says in:
James 2:19
Thou believest that there is one God; Thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Mark 5:2,6,7,8
(2) And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an UNCLEAN SPIRIT.
(6) But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him.
(7) And cried with a loud voice, and said, what have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou son of the most high God? I adjure thee BY GOD, that thou torment me not.
(8) For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou UNCLEAN SPIRIT.

Believing IN God or IN Jesus Christ, a person is only a Deist (That is, they've got as much spiritual sense as a Hell bound devil), Although they have much more intelligence than an Agnostic or an Atheist. Just believing there is a God does not save your eternal soul, or mean that you are a Christian.

Paul and Silas said:
Believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

To BELIEVE ON the Lord Jesus Christ is to put your faith and trust in Him, and His work at Calvary as the substitutionary or vicarious payment for your wicked soul, heart, life, sins, body mind, actions, words and deeds. Until/unless you see yourself as God sees you and accept what Jesus Christ did for you at Calvary as Gods provision and payment for your sin, you won't be saved.

Matthew 9:12
But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, they that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

John 5:39-40
(39) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
(40) And ye will not come unto me; that ye might have life.

Revelation 3:17
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR, and BLIND, and NAKED!
