The Church could gain many more followers for Jesus Christ if there were not so many restrictions placed upon the women that are not Biblical. Sometimes churches run off more people than they help. The Holy Ghost is real and for us today.

Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of God and was told "whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever ye loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Peter preached on the day of Pentecost after the people standing by asked him: "What shall we do?" Were they were asking how to be saved? Were they asking how to wash dishes or mop the floors?

Peter preached the first message to the Church:

"Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call." - Acts 2:38-39

Acts 2:41 "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

Acts 2:42 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostle's doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers."

There is right living required after receiving the Holy Ghost. Don't claim it if you don't love one another or if you don't treat others as you want to be treated yourself.

So you're saying the key to the kingdom of god is a "peter"? If so, then what's all this shit about gay marriage?

Pentecostal women don't see it as a restriction. They are just trying to cover up and not be naked. Every time in the bible that nakedness was mentioned it was associated with shame. When Adam & Eve sinned, then they felt ashamed for being naked and God covered them completely up with the animal skins. When the man that was possessed with the devil and cutting cutting himself he was naked. Genesis talks about anything above the knee being your thigh and to cover your thigh. That is why it is taught to wear longer skirts. I realize that each culture is different, but here in America, there is not a clear distinction between the sexes anymore. Because of this, the spirit of homosexuality is rampant. There should be a clear distinction between a man and a woman. Women have worn dresses for years in America. Just the past 100 years, women began to rebel and wear pants. You should look into history and see how things changed after this all took place.

Jesus Freak,

Who said anything about being naked and nakedness? Please reread my post. I believe in modesty or covering up, if you choose to use that term. That is what the Bible speaks of. That is what the Bible speaks of. I believe in distinctions between men and women. The Bible speaks of this, too.

The spirit of Holiness is a spirit of manifesting the fruits of the spirit of God, not a particular dress code or standard. Many Islamic women cover themselves. If coverings would make a woman manifest holiness, then those who wear the burka would be the holiest.

Galatians 5:22-23 states: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

When you see Jesus Christ in a woman, you see Him through the above in modest attire. However, the attire means NOTHING without the fruits of the spirit.

I went into nakedness to show you that it's not a restriction. Yes, I agree with the fruits of the spirit.

When a woman is naked, that is the perfect time to distinguish that she is a woman. No need to cover up.

Jesus Freak,

My broad definition of a restriction is something required of a woman that is not Biblical. Modesty and distinctives between males and females are required. Common sense and ethical mores of almost every culture on the face of the earth would indicate that nakedness and restriction are not closely related and would need no explanation.

What bothers me the most is to see so many restrictions put on women that they just give up. Those that might come to God do not attempt to come as they know they will never measure up to what others expect of them.- Not necessarily what God expects of them. Let's love people in the church and not try to run them off if they don't line up to "our" standards. If they are lining up to Biblical standards, leave them alone. Even if someone thinks another person is wrong, the Bible states to "let the wheat and the tares grow together." He "will do the separating at the end." God bless you.

I just don't understand the Pentecostal religion. I admire their dedication, though. The women don't wear make-up, they don't cut their hair and they don't wear pants or short dresses but I saw one with a Blu-Tooth phone yesterday. It just looked kind of contradictory.....

<quoted text> Can anyone answer my question. I would really like to know if this is true or not.
No. the Church of God is not like the Church of Jesus Christ. The CoJC believes in baptism in the name of Jesus Christ ONLY and the CoG believes in baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The CoJC believes in the so called oneness of the Godhead. That basically means that they believe that Jesus is the Father and the Holy Spirit. They believe that the Trinity doctrine is false doctrine and if you believe in the Trinity and baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit then you are going to hell. That is wrong on so many levels. The Trinity doctrine is the teaching that God is one Spirit that has revealed Himself to mankind as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. It is three persons of the ONE and the SAME God. It is the same as the so called oneness teaching but the CoJC doesn't understand the Trinity doctrine and therefore will misrepresent it when they are discussing it and they attack the teaching and declare it to be false. They just don't understand the Bible on that issue as well as MANY other issues. The CoJC as well as the United Pentecostal Church are a cult. Stay away from that type of belief. I won't say that they are lost, that is for God to decide, but they are VERY cultish and have the Bible ALL twisted up to fit their type of teaching. The only thing that the Church of God has in common with the Church of Jesus Christ is that they both believe in speaking in tongues. The CoJC believes that the act of speaking in tongues is the moment of salvation and if you don't do it then you have not been saved. The CoG belives in speaking in tongues but they believe that it is an extra gift that is secondary to the free gift of salvation.(the assembly of God believes like the CoG, as do many other denominations) It is an empowering gift of the Holy Spirit to enable a Christian to live a more Godly life and to help that person be a witness for Christ. The CoG believes that the Spirit of God comes to live inside a person at the moment of repentance when they ask for forgiveness of their sins and ask Jesus to come into their hearts.(if they are sincere). The CoJC doe not believe that the Spirit of God comes to live inside you untill you have spoken in tongues, which is incorrect teaching. They stand firm on this doctrine and you will never be able to convince them of anything else. There is so much more to their teaching but that would be a very long subject to didcuss.I know pretty much all about their teachings because I grew up that way and have studied their doctrine very throughly. God set me free from that teaching several years ago. I now know what true salvation is about. I have studied many different teachings because I was very curious about the differences. Again, stay away from the CoJC unless you want to be brainwashed and get very confused about what true Christianity is about. They are guilty of spiritual abuse. Look up the definition of a cult and you will see that they practice all of the cult like tactics. They very strongly discourage their people from talking to anyone about the Trinity doctrine because they fear that the "devil might lead you astray" and then you will go to hell. That is using fear as a mind control tactic. They teach that you must obey your pastor in EVERYTHING, including your everyday life decisions. That is not bibilcal. That is a cult tactic to get followers to fear the leader and to get them to do whatever he says. Everything they do is fear based. it's so much easier to control people when they are afraid. The Bible does say to "obey those who have rule over you" but that does not give their pastors the right to rule over the flock like a dictator. The Bible also directs the pastors to lead the flock with gentlness and NOT to Lord their authority over them..like I said, there is so much more to discuss. If you want to know more just ask.

I think you may have been exposed to a different kind of Pentecostal that I have been exposed to... I attend a large, multicultural, United Pentecostal Church and we would never 'run' people off. Going to Heaven is much more than long skirts and a bad attitude. I'm sorry that you think we feel that way. But, you are very wrong.

I am NOT very wrong. I feel that way because I have experienced it. I could say much more but this is not the proper venue for specifics. If you have not experienced it, great! I have. I won't say anything specific about UPC but oh how I could!
