Why should the Walmart employees have to hunt down shoplifters. They are there to work, not to put there life's in danger to caught shoplifters. There are cops there all the time. They should be the ones who catch these people.

well number 1, the cops are not there all the time. The only time"dyersburgs finest" (and I use that term loosely), is there, is when wal mart security calls and tells them they have caught a shoplifter. Wal mart security associates ARE employees and they are hired to catch people who are too lazy to work and pay for things like everyone else. And number 2, this 26 year ex employess had worked secutity for many years. No one told him to hunt this shoplifter down and then proceed to chase them clear across the street, which was stupid and him being a 26 year veteran of wal mart, should have known that.

DPD is not going to keep a cop at Wal-Mart all the time. That is not what they are for. besides the damn donuts at walmart are not as good as the other ones in town

Its not the taxpayers problem to keep a cop at WalMart. If WalMart wants extra security, then they should pay for it like the mall does.. There is always a deputy sheriff or a city cop at the mall and the mall pays them..

for your info stupid. this is a "right to work" state. you do not need a reason to terminate anyone. pull your head out of your ass and go to school.

"Right to work" refers to the right of an employee to hold a job without being forced to join a union. Tennessee is also an "at will" state, which means that your employer can fire you for any reason, or for no reason at all.

Wal-Mart would love to get rid of many of their long-time workers. They're the only ones with health benefits, etc. I have heard from some that Wal-Mart is cutting their hours (and letting PT employees work more). Wal-Mart hopes these older workers will quit probably.

Wal-Mart was big on helping get Obamacare passed. They want to be able to dump their workers onto the government. Many already have to use Food Stamps, Medicaid, etc.
