When I get ready...maybe! Hey, go kill something & release some of that frustration...just make sure it's in season & isn't human! I thought I needed to put that disclaimer in the Post because Posters like you....well, you never know!

Deer and other wild critters are my "fast" food! As long as it is in season of course but of course animal rights groups and other special interest believe taking from the land only what we need is no longer our right but a privilege that they wish to take away. Their goal is to make sure we are all forced to eat their pre-packaged crap from the store.

Firearms aren't the only implements used for hunting. Also, hunting is a more controlled way to balance nature.
As an example, look at deer hunting.A 1:1 doe/buck ratio reduces herd populations meaning fewer deer go hungry and improves their health overall. If you think I'm wrong, check out various state records for antler sizes on deer killed during hunting seasons.Since the records are being broken yearly,it is hard to say that hunting harms deer.
Why do we need to control the "balancing" of nature? seems it was having a fine time policing itself before we came along....
the stats you are spouting off are pro hunter, gun nut stats that have absolutely no basis or effect in reality.
no one said hunting harmed deer populations ( although the killing of deer does, in fact, harm the deer being killed) and antler size is irrelevant. human encroachment of habitat can account for finding deer with larger and larger antler sizes.
I'm all for people that hunt (with whatever their chosen weapon is) to sustain their families - it's a great thing when done humanely-the commercial meat industry in this country is filthy, disgusting and atrocious.
On the other hand, using hunting as a copout to be anti-gun law or act like hunters are somehow doing the deer a favor by keeping them from overpopulating is a failed, ridiculous, delusional argument.
If you want to go kill shit - go kill it. Just don't act like there's some sort of scientific data behind you, because there's not.

Mike, I've just got one little problem with you...if you're really from "Marietta", why don't you know the correct spelling of "Marietta"? It's on your Profile place of residence. But, more importantly, doesn't that misspelling cause you to have alot of problems with your Mail?:+) Just wondering...
WHAT? Why take up space for such trivial?

Guns are for law abiding people and not just law enforcement and criminals. As a young child my father taught us how to shoot tin cans off a fence and to respect fire arms and know how and when to use them. One day I heard someone trying to get in my basement door, no I did not have a loaded gun ready for whoever it was but I certainly had an idea of what I was going to do if the person decided to come on in. Unfortuantely, I did not have to exercise my back up plan because the person left when he heard my neighbor's dogs next door and knew they were sounding an alarm to their owners and me that they saw or heard the person at my basement door. Of course, this doesn't directly relate to hunting & fishing but yes, sometimes a person has to protect themselves and their loved ones from intruders with that hunting 44 caliber hand gun.

Here we go again blame Bush. All Obama had to do was just simply shut the program down. The Border Patrol Agent was killed while Obama is the man in office.Bush is gone has been for nearly 3 years going on 4 get over it people. In case you didnt know the President is the Commander In Chief but,He is also the the top Law Enorcemnt officer as well.He has the first and last say on selling any type of weapons to any group of people.

Guns control is nothing but a step toward becoming a police state. For those of you who are not familiar with that term it would put us in the same boat as the socialist nations, communisim. Where people have no rights except for what their goverment wants them to have. As far as posting on here in those countries, you could be put to death for doing so.

When did you receive your degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences? I received mine in December of 1994 and I beg to differ with you on the lack of scientific data to support hunting as a means of disease control and over population prevention. Mabey you should read up on population dynamics and the killing off of large predators. You are right about nature being able to police itself, but that only works without people present. You really should do alot more research before making such iron-clad statements.
