In ten years there will not be any more SSI. The government will make sure of that. And what the big deal about people getting a SSI check, if they need it. It's not a lot of money. A person is lucky if it covers all the bills. You act like someone really living on the high horse with this check. Get a life, you jealous idiot.

All within 10 years the US will be divided. At present 15 states are in the process of succeeding from the union.

Texas is making the greatest strides.

Most recently Colorado just filed to create North Colorado.

In due time citizens will relocate, either to a liberal state that promotes entitlements that are the way to go ,or to a conservative state where it is allowed to say Merry Christmas, have a bible out in plain view that can be seen, energy jobs and more employment jobs, and you can legally own, possess or fire a firearm with out some telling you No,NO WAY NOT HAPPENING.

And the constitution of America will once again become a document that has merit and meaning.

Your choice in the future, adapting to the new change will not be difficult. We all at present know what we want and need.

I thought that SSI was for the elderly and truly disabled. Not these lazy asses that are just "too depressed" to go to work. Getting up at 5am is pretty damn depressing for me too, but that don't stop me from getting up and going. If you haven't worked at least 10 years, if you are under 65 and if you are fully capable of gaining employment, then GET A FREAKING JOB!!!! And NO....it's not called jealously....it's called disgusting. Ticks on the ass of society!!!!!!!!

Lot of the ones i know who draw checks still pick up scrap metal and babysit and work when they want to and how they want to. its kind of like they get enough money to keep them from having to get up early and go to a real job but need a little more money to buy there cigarrettes and beer and get they nails done. and what about these that try to get there kids on SSI just to get extra checks. i know some of that kind. take them to bunch of drs to get somebody to say the kids are crazy so they can draw just one more check. and then the free phones we give to em all don't get me started on that one.

As an entitlement recipient you can either choose the standard phone with 250 minutes per month. Each month a new allotment of 250 minutes is added, automatically, you do nothing but wait.

Or you can opt for the other phone with minutes and High Speed Internet.

Both phones are FREE, your choice.

Now if your wondering who or how is this paid for?

Everybody living in the US that has a cell phone that they them self pay the bill, pay for the FREE obomo phone. You can note the charge on your phone bill. It's called ( Universal Service Fund ) that tax is applied to the FREE phone fund.

Hail to obomo!

SSI is ONLY for those who are DISABLED as defined by the Social Security Administration. The top one can get a month is $687. SSI is for those who have not worked enough to earn regular SS Disability.

It is still very hard to get approved for either. Some states have better records of approving people- Tennessee is one of the more stricter states (yes that's true).

Many of the Northern states have much easier approval records (mainly b/c of the entitlement mentality in the big cities, with Food Stamps, etc).

To get on either program it takes (at the least) 4 months and in most cases it's more like a year or more. Only 1 in 4 get approved on the first try.

I think you are right about that. I know someone who applied for SSI (she didn't work enough to get SSDI) and she was approved on her first attempt in Illinois. This was over 20 years ago. Then I've known people in Louisiana who were dying of cancer and they were still getting denied.

I have several medical conditions that prevent me from working. I am not yet old enough for ss.
Can you get ssi due to more than one condition or just say I'm seeing and hearing things.? Seems lot of people are on it due to depression. I have been depressed for 30 years
