See what the city has allowed Milltown to turn into. What has to happen Holden before you and those other elected officials do something about that area of town? Would a childs death be enough for you idiots to finally do something. Had this person been successful, this child would have been no doubt raped, and very likely killed. Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooo, is there anyone at city hall?

Are you nuts!!! Place the blame where it belongs. If I am afraid for my child in today's world, and I guess I had better be, no matter what part of town I live in, I might need to walk my child to the bus stop or arrange with the neighbors to take turns. It is our responsibility to take care of our families, too; not just the elected officials.
quit blaming others and step up to the plate!

You know what, this type of argument you continue to spew holds no water. I tell you what, do tell me the last time we had an attempted child abduction in pioneer subdivision. How about the farms? What about pill hill? When was the last time any of these neighborhoods saw a tremendous drop in home values? When was the last time you drove down any of these neighborhoods and saw several houses empty on the street? Holden and other elected officials have allowed this part of town to sink to the level it has. By allowing this to happen, it has allowed the garbage that tried to abduct this little girl to reside over there. Drugs flow freely in Milltown, you know it, I know it and so does everyone else, yet the city does very little if anything. Get over yourself, crime DOESN'T occur everywhere, every neighborhood as you would like to believe. If every neighborhood had equal amount of crime, then every neighborhood would look like milltown.

"You know what, this type of argument you continue to spew holds no water." And neither does yours. I guess you think the neighborhoods you mentioned has "city" crews up keeping the home and yards? NOPE You also mentioned DRUGS. Have you and your concerned neighbors thought about a NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH (or is that to much of a bother?). Crime does occur everywhere. Some neighborhoods just make it harder for the criminals, so they go else where.....like YOUR easy to steal from neighborhood!

not a bad idea to condemn every house in milltown. it is dumpy. they should level it and build a mall of america there. one dyersburg can be proud of. we have plenty of room since the cotton mill is gone, and if we tear down every house in milltown.

i dont know where the riff raff will go. maybe they can live with the darker riff raff across the tracks.

First, there IS crime everywhere. It may be more concentrated in the poor neighborhoods, but it is everywhere. Karen Swift wasn't murdered/found in Milltown, Southtown, across the tracks, now was she? She was still murdered though. Hung out with the nice "rich" people but someone still did her in. Doesn't matter where you live, crime will find you. Second, I live in Milltown. No it's not my ideal place to live but we make the best of it. We work hard, keep a nice clean yard, do not do/sell drugs, don't have "riff raff" over, etc..And neither do most of our neighbors. You go further down the street away from us and that's where much of that type of thing happens. But not here. ALL of Milltown is not bad. So don't start blaming an entire neighborhood because of the ones that are doing bad. And third, if you condemned EVERY house in Milltown, where do you think the people left homeless would go. They would start trickling into YOUR neighborhoods. Considering that you believe all of this area is bad, how would you like that? I'm assuming not so much. How about you get off your racist, ignorant high horse. A child can be kidnapped in ANY neighborhood, a woman/man can be murdered in ANY neighborhood, people can be robbed in ANY neighborhood. Yes, as a parent I am concerned about my children. But, I'm involved and taking action. My children will not go to their buses alone. More parents/neighbors should keep a watchful eye on our children.

Or from Southtown, the East Side, Pill Hill, the Farms, Lakewood, Newbern, RoEllen, Millsfield, Evansville, etc...ANYWHERE. Perverts and psychos can be found anywhere. And apparently you haven't been keeping an eye on the news because meth is in every neighborhood. It's out in the country, in every part of the city and yes even in the rich neighborhoods. You may not have heard of it there but it's there. Whoever is doing it is hiding it well. And I can pretty much guarantee you that all those "rich" people in the nice neighborhoods have more access to painkillers, cocaine, the high priced drugs than any of the "Milltown trash" as you say. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

What we need to do is lock up Mill town like the nazis did to the Jews. They had the ghettos fenced in and anyone who ran got shot and we could put there own school and grocery store there. We could give them public housing like they already live in any way cause they're lazy peace of shits who don't work anyways.

Somebody should lock you up you Fucktard. How ignorant can you be? My husband works 6 days a week, 9 hours a day and has a part time job at night, and I clean houses and babysit part time. We don't draw government assistance and I don't live in public housing. We pay for our rent, utilities, groceries, medical, clothing, school supplies, etc. Just because this is a poor neighborhood doesn't mean everyone over here lives off of the government or are bad people. Closed minded, ignorant sons of bitches like you are what's wrong with this place. Shut the hell up and get yourself a life!!!

Let the City pay what they appraise it for and what we pay property taxes on to them, and all would probably move elsewhere, like out of town. You and I would both be happy.

Not everyone in milltown is bad. My inlaws live over there and they are some of the most honest people you would ever meet and they work for a living. They also have lived there for years. What is wrong with mill town is all these rental houses that land lords rent to just anybody. Face it people crime is everywhere and we all need to stick together and protect our children. An abduction can happen anywhere. I just think god that this child is safe. Please people take heed.....
