Is anyone else tired of people that damage property, won't pay their rent, leave trash everywhere, and disturb their neighbors?

Sounds like you started your own thread, but I don't blame you. There are sleazy landlords and sleazy tenants, may they all find each other. So list all deadbeat tenants and landlords!

I have a whole file FULL of deadbeat renters. Available to whoever wants it. Full name, and reason for them being considered deadbeats. The ladlords of this town need to set up a website where names can be posted of these clowns and they can be "blackballed" from rentals. People who rent can whine and complain about how it isn't fair, yadda, yadda, yadda, but if you are a good renter, think about it, we are actually on YOUR side. IT IS THE CRAPPY RENTERS, THE ONES WHO DON'T PAY AND HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO COURT TO GET THEM OUT AND WHO DESTROY THE PROPERTY that cause prices to rise for all of the rest of you who choose to rent. Nobody is entitled to a place to live free of charge, not homeowners, not renters, not anyone, so a concentrated effort on the part of landlords and good renters to weed out the crappy tenants and hold them accountable will only be beneficial for both of us.

I would be interested in the law about hosting a website that enables landlords to put people names and whether they are good tenants or not. a website like that would be highly prone to abuse. what would stop anyone from signing up as a landlord and adding whoever they wanted to said list?

if a site like that existed, that would very likely be the first thing i'd do to it.

I see someone put up the "clueless" icon, the "spam" icon, and the "disagree" icon on my post. LOL. Typical really. I have run into more deadbeats and loafers in this town that want something for nothing than I ever have anywhere else. I had a guy call me 1 time, I had an apartment for rent fo r300 bucks a month, and he asks, "does that include any utilities"? LOL, 300 bucks a month and wants utilities included. Pathetic

I also would love for you guys to get a website going listing peoples names as bad tenants. I assume none of you have ever heard of libal. It's the same as slander but written. I'd be happy to point out to people how to go about taking the site admininstrators to court.

I think I looked at one of his houses the other day on college street. It was a cute house but he wanted nearly 500 dollars a month I didn't feel it was really worth that concidering I wasnt going to have a driveway and was going to have to park across the street at the YMCA.

it is actually called LIBEL and it is only if the material spoken/written is UNTRUE... if it is in fact TRUE...there is nothing the ADMINISTRATORS can do.... site admin. dont have a thing to do with the post... go to the bottom and read the TERMS OF SERVICE and it says be polite....

SPEAK ABOUT THE TRUTH... and if bad landlords or tenants dont' like it they should straighten up!!

I have a nice house in nice neighborhood... and i too have had it trashed over and over again...they stole my stove and the freakin wall heater in the bathroom... it didn't even work!!!! the house has CH/A...it was just there... some tenants are not worth renting to. I have names too... and judgments to reflect my FACTS...

That is an old trick of the trade, but it is illegal. Denying essential services is against the law, however that law only applies to the Landlords. Of course the city can cut off your utilities if you don't pay the bill, but we can't. Also, that really isn't that smart to do that because if things downward spiral where you have to go to court, they can run up a HUGE bill and stick you with it. The absolute best thing that can be done is to form a somewhat Landlord association here in town where these files of deadbeat tenants can be exchanged. I guarantee you that once some of these people have a hard time finding a place to live, things will straighten up real quick, and the people who rent might actually see prices come down.

The hardest part about this whole thing is some tenants don't understand the simple concept of if you cannot pay the rent, then you cannot stay, GET OUT. I mean it really is that simple.

Obviously you have had a bad experience with a Landlord. Let me guess, it wasn't your fault right? They picked on you, blah, blah, blah. Maybe the internet isn't the right thing to do and an organization with an office would be better. That way Landlords could come in and look up the files of deadbeats and sift through the paperwork for themselves. All I have all my court records, with judgments in my filing cabinet if anyone wants to see them.
