Anyone notice how trashy Post House Apartments are getting? They used to be uncomparable apartment living in Dyersburg. They are still the most expensive I think. Yeah they have a tennis court but it is so busted up it is unusable. The pool is nice when it is open but I guess because of the cost ($$$ thats going into someones pocket instead) it isn't open very long and the bottom is full of cracks and peelings. I am sure it has been neglected for going on a couple years now and is only recently showing that neglect. I know a few good people who still live there and when I go visit I feel any more like I am in the projects. Puddles of oil in almost all parking spots, trashy broken down cars, trash laying around, broken hand railings and trellis's, rotted wood on decks everywhere. And then the maintenance, well, it is just pathetic. I know a couple people with broken dishwashers and burners that don't work. The management is no longer repairing but instead are replacing appliances only after people move, and they have raised the deposit and rent for a place that is, as far as I can see and have heard from others, slowly turning into a dump. Anyone know who owns it and does the owner care at all?

It's really surprising how few decent apartment complexes there are in Dyersburg. Seriously, there are more available for Section 8 than not. When my wife and I were first married, we looked into a recently built apartment building (which I will not name). I was actually told that I made too much money to live there. So if Post House has really declined so far, there will really be a dearth of nicer rental apartments in Dyersburg.

LOL, some people never get it I swear. I'll tell you how it works, and believe it or not, its true. Apartment owners and rental property owners don't like to see their property destroyed, or neighborhoods go down the tubes. Over time improvements need to be made, however, whatever money is allotted for improvements and/or upgrades, that money has to be used to replace the carpet that some asshole decided to bring their dog or cat in, AGAINST THE RULES, and let them tear it up. Now they don't understand that most people don't like living in urine soaked and dog crap stained carpet. Upgrades and improvements get put on hold.

You always have the people who can't control their temper and think it is cool to show how tough they are by punching holes in the walls. Again, upgrades and improvements have to be set aside to pay for this crap.

Letting kids write all over walls, you get the point.

Owners have to rely on the section 8 program to keep some money coming in to pay for the damage and destruction done by previous tenants, so when you ask if the owner cares, I am sure they do, but situations like I described above have to be taken care of.

That is what happens when you let the Section 8 riff raff take over.

Not necessarily. These problems come from non section 8 renters also. Sounds to me like this type of behavior is what is driving post house into section 8. Don't get me wrong, section 8 isn't the best of folks, but it is guaranteed money to make up for what was lost from others. It all boils down to personal responsibility, that's all.

I don;t believe it was the dogs and cats that fucked up Posthouse. I am willing to bet it is the low life people they rent to.

I lived there at one time and it was very nice. I do not recall a dog or cat playing tennis or swimming.

You are stupid.

It was one example of many genius, but since you were too stupid to understand the broader picture, next time I will spell it out more clearly. If you don't own rental property, then you wouldn't have any idea, so STFU.

I agree. Property goes down because tenants destroy it.

It is not section 8 - it is people you think would never do these kinds of things!

No you said dogs and cats. You never said anything about the ,low life prople you rent to, or that you are probably one of the slum lords. All you want is the dollar. Believe me, I know how it works when apartment complexes are built, and sold over and over again.

So again, yo ujust proved how stupid you are.

P.S. How did you know my IQ is ranked genius? I would bet you fall somewhere around the 45 to 55 range.

Point #1 Cats and dogs are allowed at post house.
#2 If you are management and rent to someone that drives a crappy oil leakin peice of crap car, your renting to someone who doesn't care that they are leavig puddles of oil in the parking lot therefore doesn't care about the carpet or walls.
#3 If you are the manager and you drive by in your little golf cart and see a broken banister and do nothing.....
#4 If you are the manager and you have young adult children whom you let race through the parking lot and you don't care....
#5 If you have a high deposit and high rent you have money to fix things like broken banisters.
#6 How much money does it cost to sweep dust, leaves and cobwebs from stairs and common areas?(managements responsability)which makes a difference in the looks of a place?
Final point, the people you rent too, if you care who they are, if you care about the place you are manageing, you will most likely have a nice complex. If you don't care, eventually it will show in the way the complex looks. That is all there is to it. No doubt about it that Post House used to have management that cared and so was known as a very nice place to live. It is now a dump and the recent management is too blame.
There are no excuses and no one else to blame. Now the guestion was and it was a good guestion, who is the owner and do they care that Post House is now considered a dump?
Its all true

I live at Post House. Everything the guest above said is true and more. I have lived here for years. The management back then cared and this place was beautiful and quiet. Now the manager we have (she is a nice person) she does not care and the place shows it.
To add to the list the quest above started, and just as irritating....
-There are too many cars that don't start right away, cranking over and over and back firing right under your window, cars with squeeky belts and brakes and cars that smell really bad and some that are so full of trash that when the person gets in and out trash falls out onto the parking lot, imagine what there apt looks like?
-People standing in the middle of the parking lot screaming and cursing at each other all times day and night. I wonder if they have holes in their walls?
-Young adults, including the managers boy, sitting in their car with the music pounding so I have to turn up my TV...
These problems have started in the past two years I would say and becoming obvious and progressively worsening....
By the way, I haven't touched the rails on the stairs in two years because they are covered in spiderwebs...I clean my carpet every 6 mos and there are no holes in my walls. I do have rotted boards on my deck that I don't step on and my dishwasher hasn't worked for about 8 months now and I had to have my front door thingy that makes it close slowly, and my bathroom faucets and a few other things fixed by a guy friend because after too many weeks and too many phone calls and no results..... well you know what I am saying.
Most deffinately the management and her maintanence person just does not care.
I have been saving money to leave here.. Shouldn't be too much longer now.

Posthouse really does look ruff! Thats so sad for such a beautiful place to go down like that. If the vechicle isnt working..get rid of it. Call the corporate office and make some demands along with some pics. How would they like to live in that?
