My heart really goes out to you Mr. Jim Teague I just cant imagine the heartbreak you have went through losing your child. And then the way it was done. And then to have no closure for 7 years is just terrible. You shouldnt have had to collect all this money yourself because there are many people that cannot do this and does that mean that they just never get Justice? I have a few things going on in my family right now that I need closure on so I know exactly how you feel. The things that go on should be solved and brought to light and the people should have to pay. I still say all these young people in these one car accidents probably arent one car accidents. If they wee investigated someone probably ran them off the road or something. Its just easier to say it was a one car accident and not have to do an investigation. Its amazing to me how much gossip goes on in a small town yet things like this never leake out. And not in this county but another county they started an investigation full blown criminal investigation and just forgot about it. What happened there. I can only guess. But these people were someones child, brother, sister. parents, someone loved them. I only wish the authorities would put their hearts and lives in our places and then they would be more persistant to get to the bottom of things. We are at a loss because we dont have the authority to do the things they can do so we definetly need their backing. But I am telling you it should not be about how much money you have, who you know, or who you are. Justice should be done for one and all just the same. Even if we have to go all the way to Washington. Just saying......

I agree but don't you think that in some cases the police have investigated every lead that they have and they have just reached a dead end? If they have looked at every angle and came up with nothing, then what more can they do? This is real life, not CSI on TV where they solve every case within one hour. There are many thousands of cold cases across America. It was my understanding that in Brian's case, they didn't leave behind any real evidence and there were not one witness. If they were from around here, then they are keeping their mouth shut and if they were from out of town, we may never know. It's sad but that's just the way it is. Sometimes people around here want to blame the police for not solving a crime and they say that it must be because of the suspects having money or power but I beleive that they want a killer locked up just as bad as we do. If they had anything, I believe they would act on it. It's the same thing with Karen Swift. I don't think we will ever see an arrest in her case. I don't think they have enough evidence against ANYONE or they would have already arrested that person.

ha, my brother in law died mysteriously and I'm assuming because we don't come from money, they didn't have time for us. Jeff Box told us that he was tied up with the Karen Swift mystery and would get to us. We are all still waiting....

Honestly I dont think they will ever arrest anyone in the Karen Swift case however I dont know how they could solve any case then because they have everything they could possibly get in her case. They have the car the clothes the phones and now even the body. So if they cant solve that with all they have how can they ever solve any case. Now in the Teague case I dont know for sure but I heard from someone living down there that the police didnt even talk to all the neighbors. What kind of investigation is that?? The person said they saw someone running from there and he would have gave a discription but they never came and talked to him so he didnt say anything. I donot know because I wasnt there this is just what I heard. I do think it is politics and money that stop investigations. I dont say that Sheriff Box didnt do his job but when his part is done he presents it to the DA and it is up to him if he prosecutes or not. Now this is just hearsay also but I heard whoever commited this murder is friends or they have family that know the DA. Like I said I dont know for sure but anything is possible. I do know that the case of my family member was started as a full blown criminal investigation and they used tax dollars for nothiing because they quit cold turkey and we dont have our answers yet. Why did they quit. I think if I was law enforcement I would continue til I got a satisfactory explanation for the family and not leave them hanging. I will continue to persue my case as long as I can to find closure. If you were in our place you would understand.

It takes a lot of money to fight something like this yourself but thats where the DA comes in. If he will try the case it doesnt cost the family anything.

Oh I understand. If it was my family memeber, I wouldn't quit either. All I'm saying is, that if they don't have enough eveidence to convict someone, then what more can they do? Yes, they should investigate EVERY possible lead. But you also have to understand that most of these so called investgators have no formal training other than a seminar or something like that. We need a REAL educated detective to work these cases. I just don't believe that they have enough evidence in the Swift case or they would have already made an arrest. I can't believe that the DA would let a murderer walk free just because that person was a friend. He knows that the truth will eventually come out and that would ruin his career. But, this IS Dyer County.

Your right it is Dyer County and I know they have cleaned up or tried to clean up a lot of coruption but its not all gone. And really isnt the DA about to retire? And you are right the investigators do need more training.
