It's sad that all students don't get shown the same the respect no matter the circumstances!! They should all get treated equal !! At a young age kids should not know how it feels to lose a classmate and should all be together when it happens and it is a shame that some students and their families will get shown a different kind of respect then others and it's just not right!! I am so sorry for the loss of this young mans family and friends and continue to pray for the other girls quick recovery!
I feel the same way..But I believe he would have been very honored in the send off he received. I do understand where you are coming from I thought that myself.

Why was Taylor Stahlman's - a FORMER student of DCHS - funeral held at the school, but Charles'- a CURRENT student - wasn't? Was this family preference or is the school showing unfair biased?

There was a little fundraiser held today at DCHS by some students. Will also be tomorrow I think.

Really. You got to be kidding me. Shouldn't you take this up with someone from the school?
I agree

I think it's a legitimate question. I've wondered about it myself.

Please everyone, we couldn't have asked for more love and support from our friends and community! I don't know if the school called and asked, but we didn't need to hold the service there. It was lovely! Charles's family and friends said goodbye in a way that did not have any rules or strings attached and we wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way!
We appreciate the back up, but we are perfectly satisfied with the way things went. We don't feel as if he was slighted in any way. You can be assured, if any of us felt he was being wronged, we would have spoken up!
Please just pray for his funny, sweet, cherished soul, to sit at the right hand of God and our family to smile soon at his memory, instead of cry. Thanks for the love!

Hi Pepper! I will PM you again soon....

My bad. I read it the wrong way. I was too sleepy.
I understand the concern.

No. They would rather whine about it. That's all the power they have.

I think that if the school would have been needed for his funeral there would have been no problem in the school allowing the use. Taylors funeral had 1500to or more people that attended and the school is large enough to accomodate. As for respect being shown Mrs Dodds gave a wonderful speech at the school assembly about Charles and spoke very highly of him and asked everyone inattendance at the assembly for a moment of silence for the loss of such a wonderful young man. It was a very touching moment and very respectable!!!

There was also a huge flower spray in orange and white sent to the funeral from DCHS. Kids are doing things for his family and his memory at school also. His funeral was very nice.

<quoted text>It was an accident. But it has to be investigated. People can be charged for failing to maintain ,speeding,etc.. At this point she needs to recover. The passenger that survived needs to heal and the young mans parents have to try help their daughter and get through each day without their son. It's all a terrible tragedy no matter what happened.
Under the circumstances, I don't think it would be beneficial to charge anyone. This obviously was an accident and the driver has suffered tremendously.

Prayers to everyone involved and their families.

My understanding is that she is awake now. She had a surgery and will be in the hospital for awhile longer. She has a long road ahead. Prayers

Hi. Me again. For the ones interested in updates, the passenger is okay and back in school. the driver is also okay. She made it through surgery and is recovering incredibly fast. She's home bound but she's allowed to walk at graduation with the rest of her class. She still has 5-8 months at recovery but she will manage. Thank you all for thinking of these girls. they really appreciate it.
