I heard from an assistant coach that the Pioneers have been officially reported to the state for violations of the spring practice rule.

Earlier in the year the coaches were on the field teaching formations, plays and throwing the football. This week their on the field in pads. Two other schools have already been charged with the same violation.

Now what happens?

Nothing will happen but maybe a slap on the wrist. Tignor will lie and say it didn't happen and they will take the TSSAA boys out to the country club for a free round of golf.

So that's your justification for breaking the rules? Give me a break. The administration should have self reported the incident when it happened back in March. If they did, the penalty would not be much. If the TSSAA has to come to Dyer to investigate the penalty may be a loss of all summer practice.

Rules make all teams equal. No one or no coach gets to decide the rules for his school. You sir, are an idiot!

new coach in town and already breaking the rules. maybe administration shouldve given him a run down on the rules when they hired him. just when you thought gc football was at an all time low, it just get's worse. gc won't win a game and they are penalized by tssaa for violations. cruse made a mistake coming to gc.

Isnt this a direct responsibility of AD Brewer to make sure rules violations don't happen in every sport? sounds like someones not doing their job!

I seriously doubt Brewer or Hughes has ever read any of the rules. Tignor probably knew better but he's never around.

They didn't break any rule, just a stupid parent trying to run the program Wanted his kid to go to work.

If you had any practice outside of the last two weeks with the coaches and players and a football on the field it was a violation of the rules.

Pick up the phone and call the coach at Lebanon or Marion County and ask them what they did wrong. The coach can only lift weights and give them an exercise routine outside of the 10 days of spring practice. None of it can be mandatory. They violated the rules for four weeks before Tignor stopped it. I heard this from a parent who is a booster and Tignor. Ask Lownsdale or any of the other assistant coaches.

Cannot and will not win, can't do it with the mentality of GCHS boys. Don't have the character or the heart to do the things that is necessary to win in the team sport of football. They can practice now to eternity and the results will still be the same. The coaching or lack of will not matter with the type people GCHS puts on the field. You cannot and will not compete in the district and region you are in with only 20 - 25 guys, and only about 4-5 of those can play a lick. Not a pretty picture, but you know the old saying, "you can't make chicken salad, out of chicken poop"

Honestly I don't see a win on the schedule again this year. I heard the defense looked OK in the scrimmage but the offense was terrible.

Injuries and lack of depth will be a challenge. If they only have 20-25 players on the team they can't win.

I hate it for the players but nothing will change until the basketball players come out for football.

I don't know about the practice rules but I bet they practice all summer. Sometimes you've just got to do what you got to do to try to win.

I keep reading these posts that say: "They're not very good so let them practice all they want." What does that teach your kids? If you're poor, it's ok to steal? Go ahead and speed all you want, you're late for work? Rules don't matter because you're never going to win? No wonder our nation is so screwed up! People like you are what's wrong with this nation!

Maybe these past 2 weeks have been their 'spring practice' period; ever think of that possibility?

I don't expect you to understand but the state has very specific rules. You get two weeks to do spring practice. You can't do any work outside of that two week period. I have driven by the school going to the central office and seen football players walking through plays with a coach back in April. That is a straight up violation of the rules and Harry Tignor the AD knows it. The only thing the boys can do outside of that 2 week period is run and lift. Every coach at South Gibson knows they've been breaking the rules. What can I say? It's wrong. I can't wait for the Pioneers to roll into Medina in the fall.
