Stelly For Mayor 2014

Lafayette, LA

#1 Feb 19, 2013
So I am guessing with the upcoming season for softball and baseball coming up, everything should be forgotten? Well all I can say is that I haven't forgotten anything that happened in April 2012. I can surely say that I will be the happiest person in the world once Coach Stelly becomes Mayor. I talked to him at Mardi Gras and can proudly say that by the way he was acting he is surely ready for the job in city hall. I did however see his son talking to two of the people whose names were said to have been a part of Coach Stelly getting fired and I am not sure what is going on there, but by the look of things one of them is on the verge of moving which must mean a guilty conscience! I hope that me seeing what I saw at Mardi Gras downtown doesn't mean what I think it might mean, but no one will ever know what was said between the two. Just hope that the park doesn't get ruined this year and that someone will be able to take care of it like Coach Stelly did because he did a FANTASTIC job! And as off a few weeks ago the fields didn't look like someone had been taking care of them. Last time I checked there isn't supposed to be grass where the base path was. Can't wait for the Mayor Elections to come next year because Coach Stelly sure as hell has my vote!

Its not to early to be sure your friends are registered to vote, start committe in your area. It is only FIFTEEN MONTHS before quailfing and then the race is on. Tine to get this town on the move sure like me your property value have gone down. All the houses that go up for sale is becoming rental property sad when nobody wants to live here.

Need to put the right person in office.

If you feel Coach Stelly is the right person to move CP forward, then by all means vote for him. It is not just about sports in the Park. Listen to his ideas.

I know Coach Stelly will only run if he feels up to the task of moving CP forward. This will require a good deal of work and networking.

CP has a chance to become a bedroom community for Lafayette/Crowley.

We need to put a positive foot forward! No more Drama.
Sure thing

Nothing is a SURE THING.

We want choice in the next election. We want to hear each candidate's business plan for moving CP forward. No more about what happened in the park.

The vote should be about qualification; not park drama.

CP deserves the best qualified person for the job!

who says its about park drama. The town sure has not taken a forward move in the past few years unless you call all the empty and trashed out houses going forward. Its like when you wear a pair of shoes that has a hole in them do you continue wearing them or do you get another pair. Its time to give a man with a college degree a chance one that has taught our children which some of you would have been his student. A Man that would treat everyone equal no matter who you are.

Let's be fair.

I know when I drive around CP, I see a lot of repairs going on. Not too long ago people would repair their shoes before spending money on a new pair. Was considered the "conservative" thing to do.

2nd, unless there is a dictatorship going on, I don't think the Mayor has a say so over private property. Is that something would we really want? No.

If there are homes in disrepair or overgrown yards, maybe there should be a law to give warnings then action taken (hopefully it is not a elderly or disabled person needing help).

My point, let's look at all the candidates and their business plans first. That is how it is done in the "big cities".

You are 100% entitled to your opinion and vote. This, after all, is AMERICA!

First to my knowledge there is a law about keeping property clean. So it is not a dictatorship it is just enforcing the law the problem some have to and some dont have to follow the law. As you say big cities they all have problem with clean up and they take some sort of action. Its a matter of public safety overgrown causes all kinds of health hazards. The houses I am taking about do not belong to the ederly. All this talk about buiness plans dont see much has happen in the past few years when you go back 40 years or so and think about all the ones we had and are no longer here. The Chamber of Commerence is even gone. So what plan are you talking about. And you might want to throw those shoes out the repair shop is also gone and it would cost more today to repair those shoes then buying new ones.

Dont know what you talking about the drama is still going on at the park and Coach Stelly is sure not the cause. Unless you are talking about another town the days of signing that old song of bedroom community for Lafayette is a joke we need to worry about the people that have invested there lives to this town. They are the bakbone of this community. To move foward the ideas need to be fresh not that old song and dance of what could of been.

Supply and demand in a "Free Market Enterprise" system is what would cause a shoe repair shop to open. With "cheap labor on the backs of third world countries" it became cheaper to buy new instead of repair (gross waste of resources). If today, people chose to repair instead of replace, a shoe repair shop would be VERY SUCCESSFUL at a reasonable price. Not with someone who opens it and doesn't work there, but draws a check. If you open a business as an investment, you should NOT draw a paycheck unless you actually work there full time. Dividends are paid the next year from profits.

If the town has an ordinance about keeping the yards clean, then file a complaint with City Hall on the property that is NOT being maintained. Simple.

There is a great deal of repair work going on. Anyone can see that.

As far as rental property, there is a GREAT DEAL of that going on all over the US.

A bedroom community offers a place to live with conveniences. I don't see CP as having a Walmart Super Center, new car dealerships, hotel/motels... anytime soon. I do see, if people were supportive, specialty shops and restaurants. Keep the park up and add a bike lane. CP has a lot to offer!

The Mayor is the Manager of the town. A business plan is a map for the future of CP. Most people know this. A must have. This is how you would judge the candidates and make the best choice.

Think about it.

You got to be kidding convenit to live in Church Point so you want people to move here from Lafayette to live and then drive back to go to stores and restaurants they got to be smarter than that with the cost of gas. Guess your havent heard about Scott, Broussard, and Youngville.

Oh and by the way we already have a bike trail from here to Rayne that what the markers are for.
All that it means to have rental property no body wants to live here long term without people to invest in the town how can the town go forward.

Scott, Broussard and Youngsville was once the bedroom communities to Lafayette. They have grown and are now standing on their own and expanding.

I sure hope you are NOT running for office if you don't know the difference.

Rental property means that the owners could NOT afford the home or someone wanted investment property. Not necessarily a measure of decline. New York probably is comprised of more rental than homeowner property.

People are drawn to an area for different reasons. Some want a quiet, safe, quaint small town. CP can offer that! That is how you get more homeowners than renters; not by negative nellies posting negative comments.

If you want positive results, you have to have positive actions!
