ok, since i have known horsefeathers they have been "going out of bussiness", at least six times. How about people google and really look at blogs... including one where burtons was liquidating their assests last march (x#5) they are DEALERS & really really bad ones too. If you got a horse there and it was good... CONGRATULATIONS, because u were one of the few. I read a blog about the horses even were being sold for more than the $300-350 advertised. and SUE has left dick 1000x's, so why is she still there now? it's bull crap... do your research. you want to help a rescue help a REAL one like springfarmcares or something. Because Dick and susan are pathological liars who dont care about the people they hurt or the horses that pass threw there. i know of more than one nightmare purchase from there, and not cheap ones either... thousands and thousands of dollar and people put in the hospital.

i don't think sue was so bad. i stayed with them for almost a year. I left when the horses were getting strangles and wasn't going to put cleo in anymore trouble than she needed to be in. Dick is a lowlife i think we all agree. I guess i'm a little biased towards sue because she helped me learn a lot and cleo is an amazing horse. I do feel however that the conditions they were in was horrible and had i kept her there she wouldn't be half the horse i know and love. I agree they're over-priced and dealers but i also think sue comes back for the sake of trying to see the horses aren't totally neglected. i think maybe they shouldn't have as many horses and maybe then they'd be able to do better for the horses that they have.

ok, susan is better than dick, but she IS A LIAR and she is still a horse dealer. dick must have rubbed off on her because they do have to have something in common to have done what they have done to people. yes, susan has forgot more about horses than i will ever know, but you can only beleive 3/4 of what comes out of her mouth. i am did like sue dont get me wrong, but i guess i know too much to say it's all dick. they should not be in bussiness, maybe sue should give lessons and manange a barn, but she should never be allowed to sell a horse for profit again and dick should never be allowed to touch one again

Just wanted to let you all know my story with horse feather farms.. i worked my butt off there for 2 1/2 years ..doing loads of hay where i was almost passed out, cleaning stalls in 95 degree weather.. not eating anything all day..just because they promised me if i did all this work it would pay off my board on a horse..me beinging young and not thinking thought okay good idea..so then it came to the point to where i would spend every night there.. with Dick yelling at us "kids" telling us what to do and if we didn't do it right we had to go back and do it again well he sat in his wheel chair and yelled at us. i'm not saying they didn't do alot for me by pretty much giving me free board and alot of other things. But Dick pulled one of his "IM LEAVING" "IM SELLING OUT" ya ya ya whatever..so he said the horse i was working hard for was going to the auction for slaughter..he crushed my heart and my dreams. So one of the gentlemen the "handyman" for the barn put 300 dollars on the horse and then i was planning paying back..i never had the money to pay them so this past summer the gentlemen sold him back to dick right after i talked to the "handyman" and was planning on getting a job and paying him back monthly. So it came out to be that dick and sue were going behind my back trying to sell the horse on me..as i was still busting my butt off for them.. i felt like a slave..im heart broken to read all this stuff.. but i still hope he suffers for all the people HE HAS RIPPED OFF AND HURT!!!!!!!!!!

Ive been going to this farm for almost a year now. When i frist met sue, she was so polite and she did anything for you.Dick on the other hand can act like he wants to be nice but get on his bad side and he will do anything to bring you down or hurt you in some way. I as well worked there and i worked hard.In return i got to ride, but didt learn alot. While spending the night and feeding and careing for these horses, it was fun. Dick never really got to me intill he really needed and WANTED to hurt you. My sisters and I all went there. We enjoyed some days and others werent so great. Lets just say mostley everything was drama. While being a slave there, dick had to leave and go cause he wasent doing so good. IN return sue took over and it was the best 2 weeks at the farm. UNTILL sues father died. And that that time and Nice young lady was taking over the farm. She did everything to help the barn. BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SHE COULDT TAKE OVER THE FARM INTILL SUE GOT BACK!! Well all now that while at the farm we did have our moments when things were bad and some were great. BUT dick is a lieing thief!! I do not have any respect for him at all and what he did to us and himself is just horriable. I worked my ass off everytime i went there. The farm wasent in good condition either is the house. But we did what we did and in the end we all knew some how or some way we were going to get screwed. I loves going there and spending time with my sisters and hanging with my friends, but some point in haveing fun was hate and never wanting to go there. while going to this ill never ever get into this again, even if its for a horse. When that day came where we were kicked out and never aloud back i wasent sure what i would do ever day. The main reason why we got icked out cause we were taking a horse out and he just didt allow it.But all said and done it was over and done with. I NO LONGER OR WILL EVER GO THERE AGAIN!!.- ANGRY.

I know exactly what everyone is talking about, I dated a girl named monica for a short period of time and she said dick was like a grandfather to her but really dick was just a perverted old dick who let her bust her ass for him and she got nothing for it while sue is just wacky. they don't treat people right and dick is always about the $$$ for sure in it for business while neglecting the horses and peoples feelings and safety.

I worked at horsefeather for 2 and a half years or more, was kicked off twice and went back the first time. Dick was an ass, but i loved sue. The past few years i was the only reason those horses got feed right and on time everyday. That man has caused more hurt to me than i can ever recover from, why? becuse its alot his fault my mom is dead. He knew her back was bad, and she was going down hill, he milked every ounce of money and energy out her untill she was a shell. She did it for the horses and me and my sister, we gave up alot for the 3 horses we got from there, but i'll never regret getting them, they are the best horses i've ever riden. Any good horses that came off that place were rebroke and trained by me, there were a few really good ones i wish i could have bought, Tank, ralph, thunder, noel-my sisters horses baby, radar the mule, pebbles, ranger, and my partner and teacher, little joe. If anyone knows where little joe is i'd love to here where he went. Hes a poa pony with a mane that sticks straight up and a stick tail, and loved to run barrels. I miss the good times i had there, though few, thanks girls for the trail ride the day after my mom died. I miss all of you

Heart Broken, Angry as Well, as Well Angry and any of the girls that I became so close to while at Horsefeathers... I miss you all sooo much and I wanted to say that one of the best things that happened for me while there was your friendships.

For me Horsefeathers Farm was a nightmare. The first couple weeks were good, Dick and Sue were a very nice happy couple. My mare for the most part was nicely taken care of... not that I didnt do alot of the work, I was there every single day cleaning her stall and helping clean stalls for other horses, feeding and turning out horses. After the first couple weeks, things changed, and we decided to leave and go to another boarding barn. The day we went to load up horses, the cops were called, and many of us were kicked out.

That was the last time I saw many of you, Heart Broken... I am glad we got to board together afterwards we had many fun times riding through town. You are a very strong girl and never, never let anyone tell you otherwise. You and your filly can ride to the moon if you so desire... you go where your heart takes you and she will follow.

I hope that some kind of resolution could be found for Horsefeathers, it has sooo much potential, but until hands are changed... I am afraid not much can be done.

my contact with horsefeathers was brief, one visit, talked to Dick, and he was a rude, patronizing, uppity jerk.

It's unfortunate to hear that you all got taken by Dick and Sue but if yall had done your homework and talked to ANY horse person from the area you would have known not to buy anything there. The local Vets won't even go there and Burton's won't take any of Dick's horses at auction anymore. I know a lot of people that have fallen victim to Dick and Sue and as far as I'm concerned, Sue is no better than Dick. She may come off as knowing a lot about horses but all that proves is that by listening and beleiving her, you know very little about horses. Anyone who knows horses also knows after talking to Sue that she is full of more horse manure than the horses. She once tried to sell me a "draft horse" This draft was 2 years old, measured 13.1 hands tall, and was covered with rain rot. She said he was 6 months old and the rain rot was just mud. Now I don't profess to know it all but I do profess to know BS when I hear it. Teeth don't lie about age and rain rot is rain rot period. She was trying to lie to me to make a sale and must have thought I just got into the horse business. That's how they make their money. From uneducated, unsuspecting horse lovers. The moral of the story is Educate yourselves because if you think Dick and Sue are the worst crooks in the world, you haven't been around the horse business long enough.

well lets see, i had horses for my entire childhood and teens & went about ten years without horses. I didnt have to know allot as a kid, my two horses were great & i didnt know their were bad ones & i had experience< ALL GOOD >& didnt know that people were capable of such lies when small children are involved.??? u say it's the buyers fault for not knowing better and also being boldly mislead? U know i beg to differ, & yes dick & sue are about the biggest criminals i have ever met.
i have met allot of nice horse people since then, & i havent even came close to meeting anyone like dick and susan since?
