No.The mayor council system is ineffective, a money waster and an embarrassment:Towns nearby which are as large or larger, have never had local government and are safer, have public water and sewage and are peaceful. Also, property taxes are lower. They get streets plowed, have services of the dog warden, county and state police protection all of which Durbin does without because it is a corporation. The charter has never been found, so the present government is probably illegal. Now is a great time for Durbin to declare itself unincorporated. I would like to hear what the citizens have to say about this whether they be from Durbin or any place in the county.
