Aug 11, 2011 Full story: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 21

It's about time! He should have been FIRED years ago! I do NOT know how or why he was allowed to stay at Duquesne as long as he was. He did nothing (obviously, just look @ their AYP scores for the past THREE years), but direspect and intimidate the staff. Anytime someone had something to say that went against his beliefs, he either fired them or had the suspended. UNFORTUNATELY, the ONLY reason more lawsuits and grievances weren't filed is because a majority of the staff was afraid of his form of retaliation! Than again...there is a 2 year statute of limitations, maybe now that he's "gone" some people will now feel comfortable in fighting against this lunatic who calls himself a professionalman.
In addition, I'm curious to see how everything plays out in PH. I still don't know how he got a job at PH (then again, rumor has it, that he and the "superintendent" who is only looking out for his daughter who teaches in Duquesne have been scheming together), but I'd like to see him treat his staff there, the way he treated his staff in Duquesne. If this takes place, he will definitely find himself in the same position that he has put several staff members who were good at what they did...UNEMPLOYED!! He will then realize that there is a such thing as karma!

I'm pretty sure that teaching the colored people was no easy task for these teachers or a principle to correct problems that start at home and should be corrected at home. He got out before they close that ghetto school.
Good 4 him.

He got out before he got FIRED, and only got a job by kissing plenty of people's behinds.
In response to your comment, they are a lot of ignorant African-American (not colored) people in the world, as in Davaun. There are obviously a lot of Caucasian people in the world, such as yourself!!

You are a FOOL!!!!
Duquesne had more money to work with than MOST of the school districts in Allegheny County...DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!

In addition, money has NOTHING at all with disrespecting and threatening your staff.

Once again..."what goes around, comes around."

Maybe next time you will open mouth, insert foot OR do your research so that you actually have facts to worth with when you make your comments.

Last I heard the colored people will make that school a day care center so mommies and daddies can make more babies and get a bigger welfare check while their kids are at the daycare center.
Mommie and daddie can do drugs while their kids are in daycare. State will pay for it all( aka tax payers.)
Free watermellon and KFC chicked will be on the food menu. The colored kids will learn how to dunk a basketball, manufacture meth and crack cocaine, shot a gun and reproduce.

Much to your surprise I'm sure, there are some students who do well, but suffer bc the administration does nothing with the funding to help them become more successful. Anyway, this topic has nothing to do with the students, but everything to do with the man who considered himself the principal!

Rats leaving a sinking ship.
All this is irrelevant, the parents of Duquesne only care about themselves, their hair, nails and jewelry. If they even slightly cared about their children, they wouldn't live here. And they certainly wouldn't send their kids to the WORST school in the state. What difference does it make anyway? Most of these kids will be shot when they are 19.
You can't teach those that don't want to be taught.

You obviously aren't an educator, and you obviously have the same mentality that Davaun Bennett had at Duquesne for the past 3 years! Smh.

Mr. Barnett will be missed. He did a lot for the community. Its a shame that people talk about a man they never met. The only teachers that had a problem with barnett were the poor ones with no work ethic.
