I am so tired of people talking about cigarettes killing people, what about the drunk drivers that kill people, why isn't the tax going up on liquor?
It's okay to have a drink in your hand but not a cigarette! I am sick of the discrimination toward smokers. while people with drunk driving records are given back their driving privileges to go out and kill again. People.. we need to start standing up for our rights!!

I support a cigarette tax! Tax them until they become unaffordable. I had a quadruple bypass in 2005. The major contributing factor in my heart disease was cigarette smoking. This surgery cost more than $250,000.00 including the accompanying hospital stay. Several months of cardiac rehabilitation cost another $40,000.00. I'm not rich and somebody had to pay the bills. My debt was paid by the State as a charity case. I am now 4 years without cigarettes and proud of it. By the way, everyone who went to cardiac rehab with me, and continued to smoke cigarettes, is now dead. I, too, like the person who wrote their comments before me, swore that I would never give up cigarettes, but it's far better than giving up my life.

Go on smoking (in your house) and then pay for your own cancer treatment 'out of your own pocket' not with the non-smokers' insurance. You smokers disgust me. You 'could' take all that money that you spend on cigs and feed a lot of people that are starving to death. Hmmmm, course this is just a thought.

Smoke in your own homes. I dont want you nasty, smelly, crappy breath and stiny clothes around me or my kids. Ban smoking in all public places...

I also don't want my kids to grow up thinking it is cool or acceptable. Smoking is disgusting and should be completely banned from any public place including side walks and parks!

Why is it that the only people to legaly discriminate against in this country are smokers? When is someone going to honestly state the truth about smoking? Most smokers do it as self medication!!! Now if you realize that does that not complicate the issue?

That is about as stupid as saying it is okay to drink beer everynight because you have to unwind. Come on...smoking is nasty, rude and most smokers are very uncaring about their nasty habit and how it affects others around them.

And you call yourself civilized. Why should you have the right to stop someone from smoking in their own home?

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Virgo

You're finally at your best after relaxing and catching your breath for a moment. Now that you're rested, it's time to do some of the things you've been putting off lately. Make a sudden appearance to surprise someone from your past. No matter how many new people you meet, don't forget that old friendships are the glue that holds the relationship cycle together. Keep in mind that a present doesn't have to cost much, as long as it comes from the heart.
