Just moved in and have an old dresser to give away - do you simply pull it out with your trash ?

Yeah I DROVE PAST THE HIGH SCHOOL AND THE OLD BI-RITE PARKING LOT AND ITS LOOKS NASTY. PEOPLE PUT STUFF ON THE GROUND AROUND THE DUMPSTER, THEY WILL NOT TAKE THAT STUFF UNLESS IT IS IN THE DUMPSTER. THEY TRY AND DO SOMETHING FOR US LIVING IN DUPO WITH PUTTING DUMPSTERS OUT FOR US TO GET RID OF SOME JUNK AND NOW THE HIGH SCHOOL AND BI RITE PARKING LOTS LOOK A DAMN MESS. WHY CANT PEOPLE ACT LIKE THEY GOT SOME SENSE? I CANT EVEN IMAGINE WHAT OUR CITY IS GOING TO DO WITH ALL THAT JUNK.

chill out..the dumpster was a great idea.. the result goes to show that it was needed...the dumpsters that was placed ,the ones I saw, wasn't that big to begin with....is it nasty? yes...but it'll be cleaned up....wil it probably go over what they budgeted in for this? yes.......but I'm sure it isn't the 1st project that went over budget....so lets commend the city for doing this and also commend the residents for using them

This was the first year we provided the dumpsters and we really had no idea what kind of response we would get - obviously the need was great and the people used them. It will take a little longer to get everything cleaned up, which should happen by the end of the week. St. Clair County and Reliable Sanitation helped us out a great deal on this project and we thank them and look forward to doing this again next year.

Exactly right! Once again - we can only get negative feedback when Dupo was finally doing something positive!

Listen! Those of you who are complaining about the way the dumpster site looks need to step back and look at the bigger picture. People like you who have nothing good to say are the reason people are scared of doing something good for the community. Like my great grandfather said "If you dont have anything good to say shut your mouth and eat your green beans".....

I would like for it to happen again real soon. The dumpsters were already over flowing, so I did not get a chance to use them. Good idea, now we know so the next time, there will be more and hopefully larger. Lets hope it happens before next year.

I have a friend in Dupo and he said when he puts something by the road for big pick up day its usually gone before he goes to bed because someone comes and gets it and takes it to their house. so just set it by the street and someone will probably pick it up for you.

the dumpsters with clean sweep on them are free they belong to St. Clair county, which this is where our taxes go. and They will pick up what ever is there no matter how much is there.

I think the dumpsters were a good idea. I also agree that there should have been bigger ones and larger ones. Maybe, city workers could have kept an eye on them and changed the dumpsters when they were full.

Hopefully there will another day. Would like to see it at least once a month.

this was not a city program , and city workers have nothing to do with it. It's run by the county.

This was a city program - we started out with a few dumpsters from Reliable and hooked on to the county's dumpster program. The county did not come to us, we had to coordinate and let them know we wanted to take part. They provided the dumpsters/labor for their sites and Reliable is handling their 2 sites. Regardless, it was very worthwhile and will be a little more efficient next year.

I agree, everyone needs to calm down about it. I am sure with it being the first time they just weren't aware of the participation they were going to have. We need to be thankful it is getting done and I am sure they will clean it up. Next time they will be better prepared.

Im not complaining about it. I thought it was a good idea and very nice of them but I seen people up there dumping stuff after the dumpsters were gone and I thought that was kind of silly.
