If you work at Bacardis, I wouldn't let this bother you. It is common sense that a roach could be anywhere at anytime. The bathrooms are always spotless there and I think Joe takes great pride in his service as an entirety. Good way to tell if the restaurant is dirty is if the bathrooms are ill kept. If I see mold or mildew around the faucets or grime around the corners of the floor, we are out of there. Walked out of the Taco Bell on Gravois real quick when I saw that each and every picture in reach and out of reach was nasty dirty.

I think a big "turn off" for me is when I smell the air freshener while I am eating. I've seen a company I work for quit using a banquet hall for that reason alone.

Does anyone think that the McDonalds here is looking a little bad lately?

I hate roaches but I love joe's. Ray is great and he would have done everything in his power to please you. I guess you are just one of those people who can never be pleased. I will eat there as much as I can. NO I do not have roaches but my husband is a truck driver and the stories he can tell you about warehouses where he picks up deliveries for restaurants. You should watch the discovery channel they show specials on plants that make the canned goods yea spiders, roaches, rats so the next time you go to fix your husband dinner remember that.

I just read this forum from top to bottom. I find it peculiar how the story has grown.

Okay seriously another customer saw this and said to you I wish that wasn't the first time and they are still eating there kinda find that hard to believe. You can see right in the kitchen it is clean. But here is the information you wanted Ray is his name so call back up there and talk to him. This story reminds me of my dads fishing stories. We had one of them on the wall to.

Go there and ask for Ray, he is the owner and will listen to you i guarantee. You are on glue if you think a place has to be dirty to have bugs. you can have a spotless house and you can still have a bug in it. or maybe you have some force field around your house that keeps them out. i guess you won't ever eat out anywhere again because i would almost guarantee that every restaurant out there will have bugs in it.

My wife loves Bicardi's.My only complaint is the little quails,or pigeons ,or whatever they are that they pass off as fried chicken.I've never seen chickens that small.I've seen drummies much bigger than their chicken legs. The pizza is decent though.

Now you are taking it a little too far. Sounds like you may have a personal problem. I am starting to wonder if you even ate there.

BTW, have you ever licked an envelope? Do know what is in the glue?

I'm afraid to know. Anytime that I'm at a restaurant & my order has not been prepared the right way, I don't say anything. I just don't eat that part. I was always told to never have your food taken back for a correction cause that disrespecting the cook & there are gross people out there that will do something to your food. I've learned not to eat steak when i go out to eat. Its always burnt or rare & I wont ask them to correct it.Seems like steaks are the only thing Im anal about so I make my own steaks & will have something else when at a restaurant.
I quit working at a specific bar & grill cuz I was the dish washer & prep cook. If someone asked for something(like to hand the cook some fish or chicken) & I had my hands in dishwater, I would try to wash my hands & they would get mad & say the dish water was clean & I didn't agree. So I quit. Same thing for a nursing home I worked at. I dont want to be in a kitchen when the Health Dept. comes in & says "who's running this filthy kitchen"! I never want to be one that is standing there when that question gets asked.

Yeah, envelope adhesive is really nasty, between the paper and the glue, it's just gross, but people lick them everyday and don't think twice about it.(I would rather see a random roach when I am out in public than lick their eggs off an envelope).

It sounds like you are pretty reasonable where dining out is concerned.

Now I can't speak for EVERY establishment, but the movie Waiting gave restaurants a bad rap. I have NEVER seen anyone do something to someones food because they sent it back. And I know every place I have worked, if something is wrong and you ask for a manager, they will personally take it back and ensure that it is cooked right for you. If you don't like something, don't be scared to get it sent back. Any decent establishment will not let something happen to your food. I know there was also a case on the news a few years back where a cook did something, but that was an isolated event. It does not happen all the time.

And to Not a Clue: If you are talking about the urban myth that I think you are with the envelope glue...I looked that up, it never happened.:)
