Wilbur Lockley - Track and Field star was on Survivor a few years ago too. Dan Thomas - Played baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers. Kendall Rhine - Played in the NBA for the Hawks when they were in St Louis. Jay Edwards - Played college football at Northwestern and later professionally in the NFL and USFL. As for girls Lisa Jacobs was one of the best volleyball players around. Christa Sloan was very good. Sara Steward was a great all around athlete. The Edwards girls. Judy Hoge was an excellent archer. The Bollinger girls at swimming.

I had so much fun in sports. Can you imagine a track team getting called for unsportsmanlike conduct 4 times?. Just goofy stuff, but really funny. Actually was one of Dupo's best track teams. Wayne Wolf, Wayne Terry, and Donnell Johnson was a big part of that success. Man they were fast. The principal, Mr. Parker threatened to disban the track team if one more bad report came in. Then the basketball coach, Mr. Nieman, got so mad at me and another for goofing around during practice, he sent us running laps through the hallways. When we ran by the chorus room, we glanced in, stopped, ran backwards a bit, looked further and counted 22 girls, and 3 guys in chorus. As we jogged back to the gym, we looked at each other and asked...do you want to play basketball?...Nope...do you?. We both quit and joined chorus. That was even more fun. The play that year was dates and mates. About computer dating in 1971. Way ahead of it's time. Poor Ms. Stockglausner. Had to put up with our high jinx because she needed guys in the play. I married one of those girls in that play. The best looking one of course.

Thanks for the post it stirred up a few memories for me. Wayne Wolf had one of the prettiest jump shots I've ever seen. Parkhill was always so stoic and serious. I don't think I ever saw him smile. And Miss Stockglausner was a saint! I loved her and respected her as no other teacher I had ever had.

Moravec was very good. The kind of player every coach wants. He always left it on the field and that's why he got the opportunity to play at McKendree.

It is painfully obvious to all of us that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. So go back to playing D&D in your pathetic alternate reality and leave this to those who know and appreciate some of the fine student athletes that have passed through Dupo High.

We have had some very good athetes. Very good teams. The 80's and early 90's. You would have to get to the games early just to get a seat!
