That's quite all right. I am not like those who reduce to calling others names who refuse to see any situation the way I do. My opinions are mine, not yours. I do differ significantly from others in that I back my arguments with facts. Anyone can do this. Court records are open to the public. My job requires me to check out "facts" all the time. It's really a lot of fun to see how rumors take over--something like the game of telephone we played as a child. Since no one is willing to answer my question of who profits from lies told, I guess the proper paper work was filed for these charitable acts. The FOI Act should get me the info I need.

Sorry, Pops girl, those are not the correct facts. She was found in a completely different place than Shelton left her. She had moved and the police knew it. Furthermore--this is to Curious--how would a neck become unbroken? The info about the broken neck was put out by her family and probably the police. Again I ask, who would profit from misinformation?
If she was in a completely different place, then how did he lead them directly to where she was laying. What did she have to gain by laying in nasty weeds for many hours? You are a moron. I don't kinow Ashley, and she may be a loose woman (girl). Sam Shelton breached his teaching etiquette by taking advantage of this girl. She may have stalked him, but as the adult in this picture, he had a choiceto make, and he chose to sleep with his student. He is now paying the price. He is no better than any other pedophile. I'm sure you loved him, be glad it wasn't someone you knew and cared for that he molested. Regardless of the final brutal act he committed, can you at least admit that he was guilty of statutory rape??? Thats your little angel...

You are incorrect. One, I do not know him or love him. Two, as badly as the officials tried to charge him with everything they could, they did not charge him with statutory rape because there was no rape. If there had been, it would have made headlines, and he would have been charged. Now the girl denies any sexual contact with him. Do I believe her? Not at all, but that's my opinion. Now that this stalking by her has come into question, that should be another little fun diddy to explore. Like i said, I work based on facts. As far as my quest with the FOI Act, this is moving more slowly than anticipated. I did find out that the girl's parents set up the fund for monetary donations and collections with a Waterloo bank after questions arose about the use of some of the first collected money, namely for the purchases of an ATV and a truck. You can check this out for yourself if you don't believe me.
Now her rescue is another issue. Watch the show again. The police wanted to go in another direction. He told them that he was sure they should have come to her body by then. If he had not insisted on continuing, she probably would have been out there much longer, but based on what the doctors said, only someone with a broken neck wouldn't have survived--and we know she didn't have a broken neck like the family reported.

She was still covered up with the limbs he had covered her with they told us they would of never found her he had hide her that well and it was dark when they went looking so he wasn't sure of the exact spot. I was on the Grand jury and heard that case and saw all the pictures and talked to all the detectives and his scout master. He had to drag her through some really tight spot and scratched her head and body up pretty good. He would of went to the ground if someone wouldn't have grabed him when the detective yelled she alive!all I can say is he should of been more worldly about women than he thought he was, baseball will make up for all a jocks free time .It seems he should of known better to mess with a fast teenager. she had damage to her throat and nerve damage around her spine from getting yanked so hard. like when they hang a man and he comes back to life because some one half way hanged him rope wasn't long enough didn't fall far enough didn't brake his neck right ect.

Sorry for your denial. I really don't care what they did with their money or honestly don't care about Ashley Reeves at all. Just found it odd that you cannot accept the fact that Sam put himself in a bad position and now has to pay the price for what he has done. Kids, and that it was she was, look up to people in positions of authority like teachers, policeman, firefighters... A select few of those people utilize that position to create relationships with these children. He may not have started it, but he allowed it to happen. You just stated in this post that you do not believe Ashley when she said they didnt have sex. That means you believe they did, and sex with a minor whether it was consensual or not, is statutory rape. I believe he tried to break it off, she acted like the immature teen that she was and he accidently hurt her. What he did after that was inexcusable...

A female is of age in Illinois at 17. A teacher has to be 10 years older than a student for it to be illegal. I don't believe Ashley when she says there was no sex, but it wasn't illegal because of age difference. My opinion is what he said all along--it was one time.` Rat Snake--you hate him so much--why did you guys (Grand Jury) not carry through with the other 2 charges? Why did you guys insist on dropping them if you thought he was guilty, or did you have an inkling of what this girl was about? I'm curious--what doctor testified to her injuries? What hospital was he from? Why was the meteorologist called in to testify about the amount of rain and mud that night if the mud on his car didn't match anyway? Did the police forensics coordinator try to explain this?

We give him all the charges we were given in our law books there must of been some dealing that went on we wanted three counts of attempted murder also and was told on count will do the doctor told us of the trauma she received to the nerves in her spinal neck area from being hanged with human hands that almost killed her. All or notes were taken from us the last day when we did the jail tour, there were quit a few cases in 6 months I don't hate him It's the fact that he didn't think she was worth saving if he was going to be in trouble and chose to kill her instead. He was probably a nice enough guy just don't be 17 and a pushy bitch of lesser morals and shit for a blood line or you life might not matter.

You, sir or madam, are a fake. There were never three charges of attempted murder. There were two charges of attempted murder and one charge of kidnapping which the State asked that the Grand Jury (you?) drop, but they prefer that no one know that little ditty because they rushed in to make this whole thing look worse than it really was. They only wanted to charge a teacher. Ashley's doctors never testified according to the Post Dispatch.--I wonder why?????????? And to the last poster, what prison guards did he attack? That's one I never heard about, and I know that if he had, that would have made headlines. And I did find out that one purchase the family made was an ATV. It pays to sometime dig a little deeper.

You people talking badly about Ashley are disgusting. She was a child, it doesn't matter if she has a thing for older guys or if she has a baby with a 35 year old. A grown man, an adult, a teacher, left her to die in the woods. She fought to recover, I think maybe she deserves a lousy trip to New York... Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Do you think Chris Coleman deserves sympathy, too?

I suppose this is a a big fat lie too huh???
Sam Shelton Confession Tape Released by Judge
Today a Saint Clair County, Illinois, Judge Milton Wharton released the taped police confession of the twenty-six year old teacher who had a relationship with a seventeen-year old student. The teacher, Samson R. Shelton, will go on trial later this year for the attempted murder of Ashley Reeves. He broke her neck, tried to strangle her with a belt, and then left her for dead in Citizen’s Park in Belleville Illinois.
The Freeburg High School teacher, charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, is in jail on a million dollar bond. Surprisingly, he showed up to teach school on Friday only hours after he left Ashley Reeves to die in the woods at the park. To his associate teachers and his students he did not appear stressed or unusually upset. Shelton teaches driver’s education.
Ashley Reeves disappeared on Thursday evening April 27, 2006, around 3:30 in the afternoon. The teen had told her parents she was going to a job interview when she left the family home. Her parents reported her missing when she failed to return home by her 10 p.m. curfew. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department found Ashley’s car around midnight the same night at a local park, there was no sign of the teen and she was not answering her cell phone. Ashley’s parents and boyfriend cooperated with police; they were never suspects.
Being five foot five and only 120 pounds, the blonde hair and blue-eyed student was no match for the teacher who often wrestled and engaged in various sports. The teacher soon became a suspect, and the media soon discovered he had a Myspace account. On his Myspace Sam Shelton listed his hobbies as “pornography and touching prostitutes.” This was an alarming hobby for a teacher of adolescents.
Freeburg High School teachers and students were stunned when Sam Shelton was taken in for questioning about Ashley Reeves disappearance. During the questioning, police taped the complete session; the twenty six-year-old man denies knowing anything about the teen’s disappearance for several hours.
The officers leave Sam alone for a brief time. He begins to cry and pace. When officers return, Sam urgently asks to take the officers to Ashley and begins to confess to what happened almost thirty hours before this moment. The rest of the story is simply one side of what happened. There are always two sides to every story, and we have not heard Ashley Reeves side to what happened that night.
Shelton says while talking to the teen in his car he decided to end the relationship. Then he tried to drag the teen out of his car by placing her in a chokehold. While pulling her out Sam says, he hears a snap, a loud snap. He fears he may have broken her neck after Ashley goes limp in his arms. Then he panics and places his hat over her face so he does not have to see her looking at him. When he leaves her body in a heavily wooded area, he strangled her with a belt to make it look like it happened there.

Sorry, couldn't fit it all.

When asked if he considered taking her to a hospital he says yes but he thought that if he did take her to a hospital they would point the finger at him if she died. Sam Shelton then takes officers to Citizens Park to show them where he dumped her body. Almost thirty hours after her parents reported her missing the teacher leads deputies to the teen’s body in Citizens Park in Belleville Illinois.

No one expected to find Ashley Reeves alive! Although she is unable to talk or move, she is clinging to life, her body covered in insect bites. Her family protects Ashley’s privacy. They give minimal information to the media and state her condition is guarded. A couple of months after her ordeal they did an exclusive interview with KSDK’s Steve Jankowski.

Today the teen continues to make a remarkable recovery. Where once she could not speak walk or move she now can get around in a wheelchair. Ashley continues to go through painful physical therapy and her mom is her biggest cheerleader. Ashley has a loving and encouraging family. Ashley still faces one of the hardest parts of her recovery in the future, the trial of Samson R. Shelton, the man who tried to kill her and left her for dead.

Sam Shelton’s Attorneys tried to ban his confession tape from the trial evidence and was unsuccessful. The judge denied the attorney’s request, which means the taped confession will be admitted into evidence, when the trial begins later this year.

Just because of her blood line it seems some think he got to much time for what he did. All I can say his lawyers did not want his case to go to trial thats why he took a deal from the state and is serving time now. A jury would of burn't his butt and they knew it the women on the grand jury were in tears and some of the men to. Some cases were high voltage and that was one, we were asked if we didn't want to see all the pictures and said we wanted to see them all wish we hadn't after we saw them talk about being drained

I don't think anyone thinks that he got too much time because of her blood line. He had no history of violence and was known as a friendly and easy going guy. She, on the other hand, has a history with older men, and it continues. I just believe that those who have been around a while know how some women scheme. I think he was being nice and it all backfired on him. ALL MEN NEED TO BE CAREFUL OF WHO THEY TRY TO HELP. That's all I have to say.

So what your saying is she deserved what she got because she likes to f uck. So she likes to have sex, that doesn't exactly mean she deserves her neck broke or to DIE. You need to take a step back and really listen to yourself, you sound ridiculous!

Have you guys ever known a fast girl that didn't start off a relationship with a BJ. Bill Clinton never had sex just the BJ the BJ that curls you toes up will turn even the best of us into a blind fool. But you make sure you can back out clean with nothing but a smile. He acted very poorly when he hooked up with her. I can't even come up with a why he didn't know better some guys just love fast cheap sex but with grown adults. Without killing them who knows maybe he was just getting started lots of the whore killers were up and standing people that thought whores were made to kill no big deal you never know! When I was coming up we were like dogs but we didn't do the young girl there was a endless supply of free love adult women in every town we hit.
