The first guy I remember working at Honey's (before it was Honey's) was a man named Vernon Schneider (at least I'm pretty sure that's what his name was). That was probably in the mid-70's. I also remember the 76 Station and Art Hannah (again, I think that's what his name was), the man with one arm that ran it. It was across Main Street from where Commerce Bank is now. I also remember the garage on the south end of the high school campus on Main Street, but I can't remember anything at all about what it was called.

Blake is not her brother. Blake is her second cousin.

I knew it wasn't always Honey's, but I couldn't remember the name of it before that. We always just called it "the little store".

Going north on 3 towards high school swerved toward classmate coming out of state street. Lost control of 56 ford and tele pole saved Sam Hamilton's life. Would have hit his house circa 1962

Did some of this in same era at Dupo. Attended EIU 62-64. Would like to know who you are. Let me know your email

What a joke
Dupo is full of unwed mothers on welfare an there are o fathers around
At the schools the kids that bring the welfare in are trained to play footall to entertain the Dupo adults and nothing else
The new bridge over Dupo is a goodthing...so civilized people dont have to drive through that dump

<quoted text>I did not kick a teacher! I would get to school early to meet the girls and smoke in the bathroom and when no one was at Mrs. Lockleys'(English teacher) house she needed someone to help her get her stockings on so I would be in there and would help her get her stocking on. On the area of which you speak there was a fight between myself and another girl and I did kick her in the face and regretfully did damage to the girl. There were several of us that hung around together namely, Marty Beck, Cindy Pierce, Debbie Campbell, Jacque Metz, Nancy Kempf, Debbie Nickels, Cindy Bolle among others from time to time. Tough bunch no not really, fun bunch always, talk to any of us that are still around and you'll find we still like to have fun! Although we don't see each other as frequently we are still good friends and have good memories
Maybe that is why your son turned out the way that he did. How many years did he get?

Sherry Gold will be remembered,as a verry attractive TWIGGY look alike . was married to Gerry Alaxander, now deciesed died at his hands, mr dashner told me personally at her funeral ,even her toes were broken still a sad sad i dont know how to describe it,ordeal. this took place when drugs were at the worst.and not that much different than our current events, she was kind, loving, and verry popular.will allways have a special place in my heart.and will be missed by her 2 daughters and countless friends.her father and Steve gold dad both worked for cerro copper and brass.she lived next door to her parents , and im sure they wore trying to look after her and be there for her support i think her mother is still with us and is a verry gentle sole, its hard to wright this and am sorry to bring this to this post i remember going to amys resturant in grade school where sues beauty shop is now, pearl daabs bowling alley and tavern, worked there for 10 cents a game setting pins, if you grew up here , you can still walk down 2nd and 3rd street and see that it hasnt changed in 50 years. has things changed here ? my 18 tear old son had complaints in the not so distant past about having his skate board taken by our finest in blue. are they really a threat to dupo ???
That was so unfair the outcome of Sherry's death. He beat her up so bad. She took a pain pill or a sleeping pill and laid down and never woke up. She died from the beating, but he got off because she had took that pill for the pain. No justice was served there.
Never go to sleep in you get hit in the head or beaten so severely as she had been. No one deserves that.

We would go to the theater with 50 cents. 25 to get in,10 for popcorn,10 for a soda, and have a nickel left. They had a drawing,if you had the other half of the ticket that was picked you got a free pass to the movie.A man use to play the organ during intermission.A girl named Jill was the girl that sold the tickets to us. We left Dupo in 1959.
