Karen- I will let a young parent from town let you know the details about youth sports in our town since things may have changed over the years but just be pepared to have a lot of village idiots on here disrespecting any answer these parents may give you. As in any town, we have a couple of people who have some wisecrack to say about anything--just be prepared. The whole town is NOT like that! I have lived here my whole life! welcome!

Karen,
You could call Terry Milt in the Superintendent's office for information about the grade school basketball program. Football is offered through the Dupo Quarterback club during the fall months.

Depending on the age of your kids the Dupo Quarterback Club offers baseball and softball for boys and girls in the spring and summer, football for the boys in the fall. There is no basketball offered in this town except for the school teams at the Jr and Sr High level. No soccer at all. I say depending on their age because many kids leave Khoury League for select between 5th and 8th grade, making it difficult for the Quareterback Club to field teams in those age groups.

So who at the school runs this program? What ages are involved? How/where do kids sign up?

Be careful of small deadbeat towns with great sports programs instead of academics

The Dupo Quarterback Club is great for youth sports my kids have been there for years. Don't believe all the bs here on topix people will say anything. As with any youth sports programs you as a parent have the good and bad anywhere but the good greatly outweighs the bad here in Dupo...

This program is ran out of the fox school district. Unfortunately, there is only a couple of weeks left. Flyers are sent home with 1st thru 6th graders. This gets bigger participation every year. This is excellent for the young ones.

My son went on to join the United States Army and serves his country so you have the privilege of getting on here and making an absolute fool of yourself. He played football for 10 years and graduated from Dupo. I think he's doing pretty well.
Something tells me you likely never served in the military.

OK thats one for Dupo
So One joins the service...Great statistics.
Now since you called me a fool I will go so far as to say many join the military because they can't find a job. Additionally many join because it is a way of avoiding asentence from a judge rather than a jail sentence.
So each and every service person is not some kind of hero. Get your facts straight

Dear Brian,

You are obviously nothing but a sad, pathetic person with nothing better to do but put people down and talk negative about a community.

Sincerely,
A DHS graduate with a masters degree and a son who serves our country in the US military

Just as I had suspected. Brian has never served in the military, yet all he does is bitch and moan about things. Dude, I really don't think you've earned the right to be such a detriment to America. Move along and try to find something positive to do.

Getting back on subject. I think the DQC is something you should at least look into. Some will say good things others will not but it is what you make it. I have some great memories of that place.

In other words, you have a kid that sat the bench because you as a parent didn't take the time to play catch or interact with your child to get him interested and ready for sports. Similar to parents that don't work with their kids academically and expect the teachers and school to teach them the basics, which should have been done by the parents. Therefore, unlike kids with good grades who have been taught the basics by their parents, your children are behind because they don't have the tools to learn as efficiently as the other kids. You took (or probably dropped off) Johnny to his first practice, the coach had to show him which hand to put his glove on, and you bitch and moan all year long because your kid doesn't get the playing time that other kids/parents earned by putting time and effort into practicing and improving...
I also agree any organization will have sh-t bums and sure DQC has their share.
