Pazzo Pizza

Waterloo, IL

#1 Aug 29, 2010
Pazzo Pizza is now taking applications. They may be picked up at 228 N. Main (there is a container of them in front). Applications or resumes should be mailed to Pazzo Pizza, P.O. Box 26, Dupo, IL 62239. We are still under construction, so please do not bring completed applications in. If you have questions you can email us at [email protected]

I have abstaned from Topix for a LOOOOONG time because of the silly nonsense that generates here, so if this thread turns into some crazy bash-fest I will pull it. I'm just trying to get the word out for people who are looking for a job.

We are looking to be open either late September, or no later than October 1st.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! We are not part of a chain; we're family-owned. My husband worked at a pizza place for about 10 years back when he was in high school/college. After he was laid off from his engineering job last year, we decided to take on this venture. It's been a long time in the making, and we are so excited to finally seeing it come together.

We are Jim and Emmy Greenwood. We moved here about 2 years ago from Flora, IL. When we moved to the STL area we wanted to stay in Illinois and keep the small-town atmosphere, and Dupo has been just that. We love this little community. We have 2 children that live with us, ages 7 & 4, and also 3 others that are mostly grown and live back in Flora.

Our recipe is a family recipe that actually comes directly from Sicily. We make our own dough, our own sauce, and use REAL mozzarella & fresh toppings. We will also have salads, hot wings, spaghetti & ravioli (again, our own sauce).

We will be open for lunch Tues-Fri from 11-2, and will be open from 4:00-9:00 Tues thru Sat. We will be closed on Mondays. We will offer dine in, carryout and delivery. If you would like to watch the construction progress & stay tuned, you may add Pazzo Pizza on Facebook. Thanks for the community support, Dupo!

Why such short hours?

Lunch is from 11-2, and then we'll reopen at 4:00 for dinner. We studied the patterns of Dupo, and the town gets really quiet after 9:00. The time from 2-4 will be for deliveries & preparation for the evening. Since we will be putting in a 12-hour day everyday except Monday (the only day we're closed) those hours are too short! If there is demand for different hours, we will adjust it as time goes on.

16+ to work in the store, we would prefer 18+ for delivery drivers. We might also allow 15-year olds with a valid work permit.

Will you be selling adult beverages? I only ask because there are age laws if so...

No, we have not applied for a liquor license and do not plan to serve alcohol. Eventually we may expand to serve beer and wine, if the demand is there, but not anytime soon. We will have Pepsi products & tea.

By the way, since many have asked - Pazzo is pronounced "POT-so" and is Italian for 'crazy'
