Just a few miles north of Dunseith at the International Peace Garden is a great summer sports camp. The 45th annual Legion Athletic Camp has six weeks of camps July 16 - August 26. A total of 12 sports offered: basketball, advanced and beginners track and field, cycling, elementary, equestrian, gymnastics, judo, sailing, soccer, volleyball and wilderness. The Legion Athletic Camp www.legionathleticcamp.com is open to junior and senior high school athletes and for some sports Three of the of the 22 camps are now full. Equestrian will soon fill up. 10: 45th Legion Athletic Camp. Anticipate 1,200 - 1,300 athletes from across the globe in attendance for six weeks with 12 different sports offered. Last two summers representation from Canada: six provinces and three territories; U.S.A.: 12 states; Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico and South Korea. Mexico had 11 athletes in attendance. Also had a record number of First Nations athletes.
