Courts Roundup: Man gets five years for manslaughter

A Dunseith, N.D., man was sentenced to more than five years imprisonment for involuntary manslaughter, United Stated Attorney Drew Wrigley said in a press release.

How do they deciede how much time a person gets for the crime, manslaughter (and drug crime) and robbery both have 63 months. Is that the standard, just give everyone 63 months?

Manslaughter is such a bad way of saying it involuntary meaning not intended.
