This goes out to so wrong and anybody else that has ever said anything about NHC. I am a current employee at Nhc and I have been there a very long time. So wrong I dont know who you are but I can asuure you whoever your grandmother was she got the best possible care anyone could probably give her. I can gaurantee you that she didnt lay in messes all the time. Our patients are well taken care of. They do not starve and they do get water. Im not there for just the pay check either. I love my job and everyone I work with. I believe everyone working there does a wonderful job. Nhc of sequatchie is also one of the cleanest nursing homes around because there are wonderful house keepers there. I would reccommend this nursing home to anyb8ody and Im not just saying that because I work there. I to have had family there and they were taken care .

I wouldn't put anyone in there. I have heard about some awful things that have happened there. The head nurse is two faced. She acts like she cares but she doesn't. there for the pay check. if you have problem go above her if possible.
so who do you consider the head nurse there?

Well let's see I'm looking at her hospital papers now from grandview medical call me a sinner saint lier what ever u please but this paper says she was mal nurished and dehydrated more then one time she was admited to that facility u just may be an employee there but the outside eye wil tell the truth to what I have seen in your nursing home yes there are good cnas like I said she had a few she loved and nurses also but on certain shifts she was not cared for hints to the family coming in and sitting shifts to make sure she was ok you are an employee and granted where I work I will take up for correct bc if your place of employment has a bad reputation you don't have customers therfore you the employee will no longer have a job like I said to those thinking of putingyour loved one in NHC of dunlap please ask your self the question I said in my first post! Why would I lie my grandmother is gone and I do appreciate the 3 cnas that came to her funeral but I don't appreciate the employees that don't do there job

And of course you are an employee your family would def be taking care of. Mine wasn't. I give a shout out to the house keepers bc yes the facility is always clean if only the nurses worked as hard as the house keepers
why leave her there

If your grandmother was treated so badly there, why not take her out? If your family was taking shifts sitting up there with her why not take her home and take care of her??

The reason we put her there was to withdraw her from the medicine she was on and the fact that her daughter was getting older and could not give her the full care she needed. But isn't that beside the point. Isn t a nursing home supposed to care for people that need the help. My family by no means are rich we tried the at home nurse which Careall was awesome but we couldn't afford it any longer. That's why my great aunt put her in the shit hole you people call a nursing home. In the last months my grandmother was there my family did discuss moving her to soddy (which if you look at reviews they are 10 times better) but she hit bottom all at once

I was an employee at NHC of Dunlap. I absolutly am ready for a new workplace. People are rude to others and also the patients. To soo wrong I'm almost possitive I know whom your referring to. And I'm truely sorry about the passing of your grandmother. To why leave her there just like soo wrong said its a nursing facilty we are there to care for those in need.

Jails and
Nursing Homes
Here's the way it should be:
Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in nursing homes. This would correct two things in one motion: Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical
treatment, wheel chairs, etc. They would receive money instead of having to pay it out.

They would have constant video montering, so they would be helped instantly... if they fell or needed assistance. Bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them. A guard would check on them every 20 minutes. All meals and snacks would be brought to them.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose. They would have access to a library, weight/fitness room, spiritual counseling, a pool and education...and free admission to in-house concerts by nationally recognized entertainment artists.

Simple clothing - ie. shoes, slippers, pj's - and legal aid would be free , upon request. There would be private, secure rooms provided for all with an outdoor exercise yard complete with gardens.

Each senior would have a P.C., T.V., phone and radio in their room at no cost . They would receive daily phone calls. There would be a board of directors to hear any complaints and the ACLU would fight for their rights and protection.

The guards would have a code of conduct to be strictly adhered to, with attorneys available, at no charge to protect the seniors and their families from abuse or neglect.

As for the criminals:

They would receive cold food.
They would be left alone and unsupervised.
They would receive showers once a week.
They would live in tiny rooms, for which they would have to pay $5,000 per month.
They would have no hope of ever getting out.

Sounds like justice to me!

My grandmother has been at NHC Dunlap for 2 years now. I have been very pleased with the care she gets there. Most of the staff treats het like family..they bring her ice creams and treats even buy her outfits for Christmas. It is a very clean facility. She has had her problems with a few nurses but once reported it was taken care of quickly (nothing major) mostly attitude. I don't believe she could be in a better place. She gets phnuemonia very easy and they are very quick and alert to it and get her proper care. I have seen other nursing homes and this one is by far the best in my opinion
